Merchandise / hide concert DVDs and SHMCDs!!

The DVD will be released on December 3, 2008!

hide's DVD will be released on Dec.3, 2008.
The DVD contains the video of the final day of hide's first solo tour performed at Yokohama Arena and the video of
the final day of hide's second solo tour performed at Yoyogi Daiichi Taikukan.
This is the complete edition including the cover songs which are not included on his live CDs.
You can enjoy both final day performances in their entirety on this DVD.
The replica tour passes for both tours are included only in the limited edition.

Moreover hide's 3 original albums will be released as SHM-CD!

SHMCD is…..
A new high quality sound CD that utilizes polycarbonate resins, used on LCD panel displays, as a coating on the CD.
It can play on all CD players.

I'm SO excited! *_* I've been wanting hide concert DVDs for forever. XD

So, does anyone else have this book? =D I got my copy in the mail today, and it's really excellent! There's tons of gorgeous pictures of hide, including some I've never seen before (and believe me, I've seen a LOT of hide pictures XD), and as you've probably heard, yes, it does have interviews about him with each member of X Japan. =D Surprisingly, the shortest interview isn't Pata's, but Yoshiki's. Pata's is about 3-5 pages long, while Yoshiki's is literally one page front and back. o.o Then again, it's probably still difficult for Yo-chan to talk about hide. ;_;
But anyway, it also has interviews and comments from other people who knew hide (Spread Beaver, Sugizo, J, and even cameramen to name a few examples), and even people who didn't know him personally (namely a lot of more recent Jrock bands). =D There's also a discography, mini-timeline, and "hide dictionary". XD
Of course, all of this is in Japanese. XD" But to anyone who can read it, I'm sure it's a very valuable resource. =D

TV / Movies / Anime / Torchwood!

Has anyone else here seen this show? o.o I actually haven't seen it on TV (my friend showed it to me through a website where I can watch the whole series online XD) but it's supposed to be on BBC.

It's really good so far. =D And I haven't seen Dr. Who, but if you happen to be a fan of that, Torchwood is a spin-off of it. XD

Yoshiki / Repo release dates (including the soundtrack)!

According to Sarah Brightman's MySpace blog, the soundtrack for "Repo! The Genetic Opera" will be released on September 30th! =D

Unfortunately, the release date of the movie itself has been postponed again, and will now be released on November 7th. Furthermore, it will only be limited release. ;_;

However, lucky people in Montreal, Canada, will get to see the premiere of Repo at Fantasia Film Festival on July 18th! ^^

Yoshiki / Early review of Repo soundtrack!

And yes, they mention Yoshiki! =D Though this sounds kind of like a back-handed compliment to me:

Too much genuine pushing of the envelope wouldn't be doing this musical any favors. The influence of co-producer Yoshiki is most likely at work here; as his stint with one of Japan's more pop-oriented visual kei acts ("X Japan") has served to give this score a polish and marketability that is well within the parameters of most folks ears.

Uh...has this guy even listened to X Japan? I doubt he'd call them "pop-oriented visual kei" after hearing songs like "I'll Kill You", "Orgasm", "Sadistic Desire", "Standing Sex", and "Stab Me in the Back". O_o And even if some of their songs are pop-oriented, they're certainly not one of the most pop-oriented bands in Japan. o.o

But other than that, it's a pretty positive review, and the soundtrack got a 4 out of 5 score. =D

So yesterday my dad told me about the On-demand feature that our digital cable comes with, and I was looking through the list of movies that were available for free. I didn't recognize most of them, but one of the ones I did recognize was Catacombs. ^^

Does anyone here know what happened to the Screaming Kiai forum (which is a Yoshiki fan forum, by the way)? o.o I'm guessing it's still active, since I got an e-mail today saying there was a new News announcement there, but I clicked on the link, and it took me to the PHP Boards home page. O_o I don't have the link to Screaming Kiai saved on this computer (it's a brand new laptop), and the forum doesn't show up on Google anymore for some reason. o.o

Yoshiki / Yoshiki praised by producers in Saw 4 audio commentary!

So I was watching all the extras on my Saw 4 DVD today, and at the very end of the producers' audio commentary on the movie, they thank Yoshiki and X Japan for the theme song! =D They also go on to call Yoshiki a "genius", and say to check out more of his work in Repo (they said that Yoshiki mixed all the songs for Repo and was also the producer for most of them, by the way). XD They mis-pronounced his name to sound like "Yo-SHEE-kee" instead of "YO-shi-ki", but because they said so many positive things about him, I can forgive them. XD

OFFICIAL BOOK "hide BIBLE" will go on sale mid-July. The book will include comments from YOSHIKI, TOSHI, PATA and HEATH regarding the Tokyo Dome 3-day live, a section called "ALL ABOUT hide", which will contain accounts from many of hide's friends, a hide interview from ARENA 37℃ and more.

I fixed a few typos that were there, but otherwise that's a direct quote. XD

They didn't like it much. XD" Which makes sense because I saw an online stream of it on Halloween and to be honest, it wasn't that great. X_x

Yoshiki posted 5 new pictures in his blog! ^_^ It was actually 4 pictures when I started writing this, so he could even be adding more as I speak. XD

The caption for one of the photos (my personal favorite picture of the new ones so far by the way. XD Love his smile!) says:

I was really looking forward to hearing Yoshiki's music for this movie, but now it's not being released until some time in 2009. =(

Edit- There's been an update. It turns out there's actually no set release date for the film yet despite that report. o.o There's more details here. ^^ So it could still be released earlier than '09 hopefully. XD

So I was just checking Yoshiki's MySpace, and I noticed that his Top Friends list is currently overrun with random people, most of whom are 18-19-year-old girls from China, and half of whom have less than 5 friends on MySpace so far.

If that's not suspicious, I don't know what is. o.o

Is there anyone here who can confirm the ridiculous rumor which states that hide was a transgender? O_o I've heard so many people say this about him, yet none of them ever have any proof. X_x

If it is true, then fine. o.o But I have serious doubts about this.
