Sorry for the double post, but I want to raise attention again ^^°

I've seen some german users floating around in this forum, so I wonder if anyone will come and join us (me + my wife)...?

...Unfortunately both Braunschweig and Hof are too far away for me... >_<
But I'm pretty sure you'll meet X fans there either way!! ;)

...When the morning begins
I'll be in the next chapter...

Yes, too far away from me, too. (Hamburg).    :'(
Why in Hof??!!

Hopefully they will have more dates in some bigger cities.

Or, we just wait until the release of the Bluray.

Ahhh, unsure about that. Posted in the animexx forum and the response was "Uhhm, heard their name (X Japan), but I'm listening to GLAY. Have all CDs of GLAY!!! ..."

Or maybe I'm posting in the wrong channels....

Anyway:

German AirDates of We Are X

  • 27.10.2016 Hof
  • 28.10.2016 Hof
  • 11.11.2016 Braunschweig
  • 12.11.2016 Hildesheim

Any more?

I'm curious how they decide the places the movie is shown. No offense to Hof, but come on. It's neither a big city nor is it easy to reach for most people. Almost as weird as when Luna Sea chose Bochum as the place to hold their only european concert. XD

LOL Luna Sea in Bochum... "A place of Music history"... XDDDDDDD

I suppose those are simply the only festivals that accepted to show the movie... -_-

Soooooo we went to the We are X screening in Braunschweig on friday. And all I can say is that you shouldn't judge the movie by the version that leaked on the internet. What we saw was a different cut and this one is a bit better I guess. The movie is still almost only about Yoshiki and Toshi (and a little bit Hide and Taiji). Almost zero screentime for Pata, Heath and Sugizo. Still a very nice experience.

nb invited some friends, that don't know X very well to join us. And they said something strange at the end. So I want to know what you guys think about this. They said when they heard how Hide died, they first thought that he was trying to get high from lack of oxygen by knowingly strangling himself. I've never heard of this practice and have never thought about that before. What about you? Feels strange to think about something like this...

It's a kind of fetish, you can google autoerotic asphyxiation.
I still want to believe what Yoshiki said, that it was the exercise to release the shoulder pain or something similar.

I think it was Taiji who said that in his book.

I believe the practice is something like in this video.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I brought a friend (who isn't a fan) to the premiere of "We Are X" & she had the same question too.

Not gonna click that video about the practice since I'm plentyyyy familair but nope! The get-your-balls-off practice of it is not shy from Yoshiki's writings. He made a song called "Asphixia" back in 2006 (http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ferrets_violet_xx/16640621.html)

With him and hide being the closest in the band (debatable, since Yoshiki and toshi grew up together) I believe he wrote about a situation they were both familiar with. I mean, I guess he could have written "Asphyxia" just about his bandmate and longtime friend committing suicide that way but that would be a little morbid and disrespectful, no? (I guess it's hard to RLY tell without the lyrics but) in line with how Yoshiki is... you know. It's not that out there.

I REALLY don't believe hide committed suicide. But I also don't believe it was from some fucking stupid muscle-stretching exercise. He was probably into auto erotic asphyxia and it would have tarnished his legacy too much to say so at the time. Now, it would be too much to say so at the expense of current X Japan's reputation. No one buys that bullshit, right? Otherwise it would be done with, right? We all know something's up. But... the band has to say something placating so :)

We are not trying to keep the legacy—we are trying to move forward, so our sound is going to change. I’m ready to be criticized, for example by fans saying "you should rather be this style." I’m ready for it, I’m okay with any concept of criticism-Yoshiki

We're getting a bit off the thread topic here, could we move this part to the hide section? (Also, I've honestly never heard about an EA theory before on hide, so this is kinda. . . you know, like, "woah" to me.)
