News / Re: #XDay POSTPONED
« on: February 04, 2016, 08:10:28 AM »
Here we go again, feels like Paris all over again ... and to be honest, the only person I could blame is myself as I seem not be able to learn from my past mistakes.

I am totally with you here. I can only blame myself. I am a X Japan fan since over 20 years, I don't know what to think of all the things happened in the last couple of years.
Today, I told myself that I will not buy any flight tickets just because of X Japan. If they will have a concert within a train distance from my home (I am in Hamburg, Germany), then I will consider to buy the ticket and book the train and hotel the day before the concert. I think it's the only safe way to do.

Did they mention about the ticket refund?

Been there, done that. It was my mistake 'coz I booked an early flight and hotel accommodations  for their Taiwan-moved-rescheduled-or-postponed-concert-whatever, ages ago. We could do nothing about it so me and my son just toured Taipei City. That's why, I was really undecided to book and buy tickets for their Wembley Arena X Day. Lesson learned well. Will wait till next year.
Album release is another matter though. I want to stay cool so I won't rant.

I just hope it is true this time around. And I also hope that they will announce a World Tour. I don't lose hope yet even though there are times I am fed up with all the delays..

Oh, I've just seen Yoshiki's tweets about vacation. Well, maybe we won't see any new material for some more, much more time, but it seems that he really needs some break. Just to organize his thoughts...
I just hope that while on vacation and organizing his thoughts, he realize that he owes their fans a lot more than what they are giving us... after all, the fans have been supporting them 101%...

Offtopic / Re: Stereotypes you've encountered
« on: February 25, 2011, 02:21:04 PM »
Some people think:
I am snob because I look serious but when I start cracking jokes effortlessly, they are like WTH?
I am ignorant but when to all types of discussions they cannot win over me, they are like WTH?
I like boy bands but when they learn I love X Japan, Incubus, Kyoji Yamamoto, Achan, metal & rock music, they are like WTH?
I am strict to my children and grandchildren but when they tell them I'm a cool Mom and grandmom, they are like WTH?

So I guess my appearance doesn't really say what I am capable of...

As the saying goes...one has to move on and get on with their life.
We cannot separate hide from X Japan nor X Japan from hide even if
they don't use his images/pictures anymore.

But on topic... Heath rocks...

Yoshiki / Re: YOSHIKI BIOGRAPHY
« on: January 27, 2011, 09:53:15 AM »
thanks so much in advance. For all I know, there has not been any translation done in English of Yoshiki's bio. I'll be looking forward to yours.

Sorry to bring up old topic but just wondering ... is anyone still interested in English translation of d book ? I bought the Chinese version last year n skimmed thru - was wee bit hard for me to read as it's in old Chinese script. But I'll have some free time next month so I thought I will actually read it this time n perhaps translate it. Please let me know if it's already been translated.

Albums/Singles / Re: X Japan New Album (What?)
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:36:03 AM »
I'd say my guess is pretty much the same as the ones you already listed minus Art of Life.  One of the best parts of that song is that it takes you on a 29 min journey with multiple layers.  I think a cut down version would be pointless, even if it's already a 100% English song. I know they included it in the NA tour setlist but I think that was more because the song's a fan favorite and they wanted to end the concert with a bang. I would probably replace it with X in all it's Japanese glory.
I agree with X instead of Art of Life.. After all, this is their first album to be released internationally, so X must be included together with all that are mentioned above. As much as Art of Life is their signature song, then X is their fans' identity song.

hehe blogged about it http://yoran2009x.tumblr.com/

Thanks Lei for the blow by blow account of your Xperience. You see, upon reading it, it felt like I was there, too.
I especially liked that part of your Endless Rain story. I got teary-eyed because I thought of hide.
My all time favorite from them is also Art of Life. Thanks so much.

You can try this site. I know Katrin is our member here but I don't know her username. She has X Japan's December 1995 interview. Maybe you can ask her other sources specially during their indie days:  http://www.xjapan.de/index.html

General chat / Re: How do you introduce people to X?
« on: September 01, 2010, 06:19:20 AM »
It depends on the music taste of a person. If he/she is into ballad then I'd share X Japan's ballad songs. If they are into rock then I choose the less metal sounds like weekend or rusty nail. If they are into metal then I have them listen to Blue Blood or Sadistic Desire and if they are into other genre then I let them listen to Art of Life, Rose of Pain or Kurenai. But like Ann, I don't know if they become fans. There are few who wants to watch their lives with me and my son. At home and in the office, they are familiar with Japanese music coz I always play the music of Ozaki Yutaka, Bz', Luna Sea, L'arc en Ciel, Buck Tick, Miyavi and of course, most played is X Japan's. I am very proud to be a X Japan fan.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: THE Lollapalooza Thread!
« on: August 16, 2010, 03:12:44 AM »
Thanks Sander for the link. I specially like this part:

NT: Does that have anything to do with Sugizo? (Sugizo became the band's new guitarist and sixth member after the reunion)

Y: Yes. I asked him to play some dramatic guitar solos. Yeah, he's really become part of X Japan now. He was almost co-producing the sound. Because he likes to be in the studio.

Believe it or not, a lot of musicians, when they finish their part, they just leave and get drunk (laughs) but for some reason Sugizo, he is staying like...I was usually staying until 2 or 3 a.m. and just working he was just staying and then supporting me. It was great.

He did an amazing guitar solo for the song called "Jade." Of course Pata, Heath and Toshi did an amazing performance as well.

Been a long time since I graduated - 1980. Never stopped working from then till now. At present I do
freelance work for 3 companies as bookkeeper. And in between of married life, 2 kids, grandchildren and
charity/volunteer works, is attending concerts, hehe. I'll die without it. Just like I felt dead when I was
not able to go to Nissan Stadium on the 14th and 15th of this month year 2010. It would be another
9 years before I retire. By then I hope to see all the concerts of my favorite bands. There's a problem
though: it's either they are all extinct or too old to do lives :(

Holy shit, this show is so epic. Like, comparable to Star Wars.

uhuh Star Wars... epic... what more can we say? The best description by far....

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: Full Lolla Press Round-up

Thanks Beauty and the rest for the compilation of their news write ups...
Just hope they made a big fuss in the Lollapalooza, big enough for them
to be noticed and desired for...in the US of A... If that happens, naturally,
the big wide world of music industry will follow suit.

Yoshiki / Re: YOSHIKI’s interview in BARKS
« on: July 26, 2010, 08:31:30 AM »
It was my fervent wish to see X Japan in small-venue-intimate-like performances.
I prefer it more than the tokyo dome-nissan stadium concerts. Of course it is next
to impossible with X Japan's caliber.

But with this item, I feel a little hope...

We’ll go on world tour, but live houses (clubs) would be fine. I have a feeling that I’ll do perform anywhere

Thanks for the translation..

I noticed, too, that hide is no longer in the picture and I felt kind of sad. My heart hurts. But on the other hand, I feel great coz SGZ can now be regarded as the official official X Japan member not just the sixth member.

General chat / Re: X Japan new song - Born to be Free
« on: July 04, 2010, 01:37:57 AM »
Though frustrating I think it has a mass appeal. If they think of being successful globally, Yoshiki needed to do this. He's a wise businessman so he may have struggled between doing what they used to do (his love for metal music) and sale able to the listening public-at-large. But here in this video, I can see people going for the music...
