On the 10th of March, Inoran will release his 5th studio album, Watercolor. For those of you who don't know, (how can't you!), Inoran was rhythm guitarist for legendary "ex" visual kei, rock band, Luna Sea. He has been doing solo works for a long time now, releasing his first solo album, titled "Sou" in 1997.

I first heard Inoran's music a few months back, one of the first songs being "raize". I was straightaway pulled into it because it was the first time that I have really noticed a turntable being used in rock music.....that actually sounds cool. The next thing was his voice. It definately is different from all other singers I have heard. If I were to describe it...I would say it can come across sounding, at times, whiny and annoying....without being either of those things, (if that makes sense...).

Here is the PV for raize for those of you who want to hear this great song:

Also, for those interested in his latest material, you can find samples to his songs on his myspace, and order his latest album, due to be released next week, at CDJapan.

Anyone else a fan?

I've only watched a few PVs and live clips on Youtube, but I have to say that his solo stuff is pretty good. Maybe I'll pick up a live DVD someday.

wow I like Raize, one of my fave song, and lol Ju-ken (bass support for S.K.I.N and Gacktjob) was the bassist on that pv.I pretty much like his solo,so far I've been listened to Apocalypse and his best album, which I highly recommend this if anyone never heard his solo before.

I have a friend who literally worships INORAN, and I mean seriously treats him like a deity. His music is not bad.

I love Inoran!!!! I agree mC it is difficult to describe his voice - I have found myself sitting listening and thinking “hmm it is a bit whiny sometimes and I don’t know if I should like this……but I do!!!”. Definately worth a listen for those who might be interested!!

Favourites of mine include: -

Hydrangea ()
Determine ()
I Swear ()

The members of Luna Sea have good solo projects; I would say that Inoran’s solo work is probably my favourite followed by J’s.

Very kindly, Inoran's new album has been put up on YouTube for overseas fans to be able to listen to. I don't know if it will be permanent, either way, have a listen, well worth the time!

Thanks for the clip rafaelo! Quite like how they changed the guitar parts for this song. I didn't realise Inoran was streaming a concert free!!! DX Do you know where I can find more clips or a download?

@andy: send a PM to Kurenai_Akari, she´s really good in translating from japanese, my japanese is really poor and from the translater it sounds more like a re-release with a bonus track than like something new, but I can be totally wrong with tha

Hm purely a guess but...I would say it's a rerecording of an old song of his that is to be released again as a CD? Owl's Tear is a song from ages ago...on his first album?, that was originally sung by a female singer on the album and at some lives.

I remember Inoran has sung this himself at lives before so maybe this is a studio version of it?

Yea, so he has re-released his first album, Sou. The track itself, Sou, has re-recorded vocals (I like the vocal distortions and his change of notes!), and he has included a new song at the end of the album?

He is also releasing a new single called Hide and Seek. There are 3 different types, each having the title track and then a different second track depending on what type you buy!

I want to know that too!!! If you go to CDJapan or HMV.co.jp and search for it, you can listen to a 45 second sample, but that is all I have been able to find! It's not been put on YouTube yet, nor has it been put up on iTunes Japan so...guess we will just to have to wait? I am thinking about getting the album, but I am pretty sure that Sou is the only track with Inoran on vocals...although, I would like Monsoon Baby and Owl's Tear...
