last year I listened to every single episode, they're highly documentative and very well done from an historical point of view.

they haven't been updating it recently, probably because the waters are always quieter than they should be... Can't really blame them 

interviewing somebody who has lived through the peak of X Japan era would be so pleasant, though.

Plus, if the members have anything in common, it's definitely about neglecting their health and succumbing to addictions. Indeed, they do not know what 'learning from mistakes' is. To some extent it's not their fault, I can't blame them and tbh I'm dying of worry. However, I wouldn't be shocked either if things were like that.

100% true. And certainly not being able to have a decent touring/recording schedule with X worried every member to the point it's easier to feel directionless. Tbh I think that Heath is probably the only one with decent health nowadays since nothing makes us think otherwise, but I can't really vouch for that because I havent' heard any news from him since... Years?

but I rediscovered cycling for me. And soldering, not alcohol. I got a lot healthier during lockdown. What about you?

I'm doing very well (probably because I got accustomed to the Corona storm in the media), I started doing some workout in my home gym and started to trim down my "to do" list in regards of books, movies and games. It's still confusing waking up and deciphering how the whole pandemic is going and what countermeasures the government is trying to take, but I just hope that vaccinations and potentially new cures will help us getting rid of this mess for good

I hoped PATA stopped drinking after his cologne disease back in 2016 when the Wembley concert was postponed.

this year and a half has been harsh on everybody, so I wouldn't be surprised if the relapse was triggered by that. It's been difficult even for sober people (I'm almost a nondrinker myself), I can't imagine how much on people who already had drinking problems before.

apparently Sugizo is not doing well. He has a trauma that extended from the shoulder through the arm (he guesses it's from wearing the guitar strap over the same point for years)

according to his IG post he's receiving therapy for that and it's based on applying oxygen supplies to the injured area to diminish pain. I just hope it's not permanent, we already have an injured Yoshiki in the roster...

I don't like to analyze every single thing as psychological BUT this project makes me ask, "Is it all about being a feminine band to choose a lady?"
‘Cause you know, Lady's X is just like a continuation of generation and even after our ancient boys retired, this gorgeous girl or maybe a sort of band might represent them next.

 I mean, he would be happy to let her to help him and it’s logic to look for a girl to do that, ‘cause he seems like avoiding have a 'son' or a boy who can help him as well. Don’t know why but I feel like his trauma follows him in here too, as always.

Or maybe he's just planning to play the princess with these princess-like girls like you said. Who knows.

interesting analysis. I think that X's aesthetic was heavily influenced by the costumes used by Kabuki theatre, which is for obvious reasons seen as a tradition in Japan and back in time it was acceptable for men to play even female roles, often using flamboyant clothing and artistically-crafted make up.

Yoshiki in particular among the members in the band always was the one who best incarnated the androgyny ideal during a lifespan of 50 years, in an extremely successful portrayal. I bet that if he had to choose one new member, he gladly would give up his spot to a younger girl, if it wasn't spearheaded by his sense of leadership.

my guess is that he was trying to weaken a bit Yoshiki's undisputable and self-centered leadership by asking him to accept all the members' inputs in composing songs (also, I think he made a point about everybody being treated equally from an economic standpoint). Basically he wanted a bit of democracy in the band, imo. He definitely didn't want X to be a monarchy, rather a shared project.

however Taiji never made a mystery about the fact that Yoshiki is "both an angel and a devil", these words are taken verbatim from his autobiography.

another guess is that there were drug related or drinking problems. I bet that Yoshiki was willing to put his life on the line to keep X as clean as possible in order to think through carefully about their debut in the U.S. at the time.

these are news from 2018 and Yoshiki still was dubious about the whole thing, so I think that even this project sank like the Titanic http://inrock.ru/english/yoshiki_2018_en

however the drummer girl was really something! Maybe she should have been hired for X, since Yoshiki is still beaten down by the multiple surgeries.

@ottkaji some parts of the website still use Adobe Flash (which is outdated) and maybe depending on the browser you're using they might not display 

I think you can pay also via international money order also? However I agree that it might be annoying since it requires a post office to be issued

it's a visual novel that at first impact looks like a lighthearted school life simulator, then it unexpectedly turns into a horror game with quite disturbing remarks about mental issues. I think that it scared half of the Internet back in 2017 when it originally debuted.

I would be willing to attempt translating any text anyone wants to read but not audio or video as of yet. I still have a bit of trouble hearing the language as accurately untill I know more words.

I'm trying to expand my own volcabulary myself and really wanted to read some of the books that are not translated. I already read Toshis book and found and linked Kyoudai Tsuioku No Hide and now want to read the book about Hide by I.N.A. as well as Never Ending Dream Hide Story, the Yoshiki biography and Taijis book as well as the one about his murder. If anyone knows where I can buy Kindle or E-Book copies let me know.

I really love how his voice evolved with this soft-spoken, mellow tone mixed with  really over than average high-pitched notes 

I wonder if there's an equally talented singing teacher behind this improvement
