BAH! Audio is in Japanese and there are no subtitles -.- Yoshiki, get yourself some translators!
And it IS expensive, but I guess it's worth the "four DVDs of footage, one bonus disc, and bonus CD. Bonus DVD includes over 50 minutes of unreleased behind-the-scenes video, with bonus CD containing a recreation of the demo tape originally distributed at the concert titled "Longing - Fumikireta melody." :D :D
Gonna buy this after working all summer :P

The running time could be wrong, it was announced yesterday you know!
And, both concerts are on 2 dvd each, which means they are longer than
2 hours, because a 2 hour concert would fit into 1 dvd9 disc.
Otherwise this would be an awful waste of space! :?

CRAP! I've been thinking all day that this was the X RETURNS show coming out (from 1993.12.31)!! I forgot its actually 1994. The price really isnt that bad for 5 DVDs and 1 CD considering its in Japan. Only about 163 US Dollars. I think I'll get the induvidual sets, I dont wanna pay 80 more dollars just for some backstage footage that doesnt have an subtitles.
At least this means we will hopefully get the 1993.12.30 and 1993.12.31 shows at some point. The rumor kind of doesn't make sense though, it says all the tokyo dome shows from 1993 to 1997 that weren't already released. But what about the first tokyo dome show in 1991 and the other 2 shows from 1992?

Crows In Black: The ones from 1991 and 1992 are from the X era, it's really difficult for Yoshiki releasing something from that era. And about the 1993 ones, there's a live where Toshi's voice it's a bit bad I don't think they would release something with that voice, at least one. I hope the next ones are the ones from 1995.

And about non releasing stuff from 1990/1991 I also think Sony own some of the copyrights and this... I didn't say he will not release it, I just say that it's really difficult.

I hope they'll release something on blu-ray, too. That's what Sony are supporting anyway.

So in all there is three 'versions' of Longing,
Setsubo No Yoru: Night of Longing, the 'Longing' that is also in EM II
Togireta Melody: Unchained Melody
Fumikireta Melody: Interrupted Melody. I think I have heard some live versions of Longing with different lyrics to the one found in Togireta, it's the 72 min specials I think.
Which is great since I really like this song.
I just hope it is really uncut, hoping to see the full Acoustic performance of "Rose Of Pain' and Toshi's solos. :)

Copyright?! In their indie era they were on Yoshiki's own label, extasy records.
He could release EVERYTHING from the indie era if he wants to!

We will see - it's just my feeling... And to be honest - I'd go crazy when he really releases it with that f**** Last Song!! I mean that song is good - in musical matters, but that is something what the X the hell does NOT need - not, yet.

so I used the excite translator on it:

Be glad instead, that Yoshiki and Toshi will probably work together again.

It is very nice, so is The Last Live. There couldn't have been any better ending for an incredibly famous band like X-Japan. They let the fans know that this was the last live they were having, they let the fans know that it was the last song they were writing. Much rather that than abruptly breaking up in the middle of a tour.
Besides, they're coming back together now anyways. Even though it's not 100% the same X-Japan that broke up 10 years ago, they're back. Or at least will be.
It wasn't the same X already when Taiji left, it wasn't the same when Jun an Hikaru left, it wasn't the same when Tokuou left.... X has many faces but always the same core!
I'd have liked a kind of "open end" much more, as well. I'm happy that Yoshiki was able to turn it that way, that only 'one chapter' of X was finished, but at least not the whole X...

Well, I didnt grow up listening to X. I wasnt there to experience anything. I just have the stuff i've bought and downloaded. To me, its just another song they performed. Whether it was against their will or not, I like the song and I think The Last Live was an amazing concert. I've seen it in full about 8 times and i've skipped through and listened to my favourite songs god knows how many times. If they were forced to do it... if they were forced to write The Last Song when they didnt want to.. if it was all against their will.. they still put 110% into the performance of that song and the whole concert and I love every minute of it :D

their own will, that is really bad. Maybe the concert shouldn't have been done,
but I say the same as earlier: Stop digging in the past! It can't be changed. :P
And they did a fantastic job on stage that night, as always.
But of course there is a lot more happiness in their earlier performances.

I think this is completely wrong. It hasnt robbed them of anything. THEY are the ones who decide if they want to reunite. No-one else. Other people might pressure them into it but at the end of the day, they decide what happens. If they want to reunite, they will do it. If they dont, they wont. This might not have been the case during the last live but if they want to reunite now, they will do it

You will never know what would have happened, if there wasn't a Last Life at least, but, to be honest, I don't think Yoshiki would have talked to Toshi even without the Last Life. May be Toshi would have grabbed earlier the chance to talk to Yoshiki, yes. But in the other hand I'm also not sure of this since I read how Toshi reacted when anyone from the X management came to talk to him... which in that case is possibly also the conclusion that with the Last Life he was somehow "thrown out" of X....
The fact, that the Last Song and actually the Last Life as well is pissing me off is, because in the first line Yoshiki didn't want it! And no matter what others say - and I know there are many fans who love the Last Life - in my eyes it is just shit!
In that case I even don't care about cultural differences - to me it has an affect as if the end really was forced, and the fact, that Yoshiki still said and says "X is my life", it makes the situation even more hurting, because the Last Life expresses the 'end' end which never should have happened - no matter if it was a final end, or just a stop to go on later.
And it's just a feeling, but I really believe that the reunion will happen.

The way I see it (and I'm talking in the future now, not the past) is that there WILL be a reunion if the band members agree to it. I cant see how The Last Live changed anything. Toshi was leaving the band regardless of whether there would be a Last Live or not.. and as we have seen, The Last Live has not put a stop to a possible reunion.. All it did was delay the possibility.

And if you are a fan, you'll encourage other people to buy the box by not uploading anything, that would just encourage people to download stuff instead of buying them. It's not that, some people preffer to save money for upcoming releases (like other lives that are going to be released), a possible new single (or even some lives of a new concert), SKIN stuff, etc. :) And if now we're not able to buy them we can't wait to get money because, for example, the bonus is limited...

Guess I'd be the last person who wouldn't want to support an artist. I'm one of those who's happy to have something to eat at the end of the month. Hell yeah, I'm downloading a lot of stuff cause I need it to feel alive and once in a while, when I'm able to do it, I buy an original CD or DVD I downloaded before. So I support the artists when I'm able to. I know it's not the way it is supposed to be but better than nothing, don't you think?

We seem to have different meanings for a fan. In my opinion, when person supports the artist buying his/her works or tickets to concerts, he is a fan. When he downloads all the music and videos, he isn't a fan. Or maybe he is, but he is a bad fan who is only thinking of himself, and his wallet. He doesn't care about the artist and doesn't support his work.
All artists want fans who support them financially, by buying stuff. No one wants a "fan" who only downloads music and never buys anything or comes to a concert. They wouldn't be rich if people weren't to buy their products.
I don't mean downloading is totally forbidden. Without downloading, I wouldn't know X Japan. So you must first try the bands by listening to free samples or radio or downloading few songs. Then if it's a bad band, you remove the songs from computer. If it's a good one, you buy their music. If you download a live video, you buy the concert. I did that. First I downloaded few songs which my friend recommended, I got hooked. I then downloaded last live and visual shock 4. Now I have them both. And now when I can get new releases which can't be downloaded yet, I buy them. So downloading is sometimes almost a must-do.
But for uploading... Someone always uploads them. But that one isn't me. That's not what I would do. Go ahead and upload if you want to boost your ego within other fans. Yes, that's how I see it. The uploader wants to see "thank you. I love you for upping this <3 <3 <3" kind of messages. If you aren't doing it for that kind of messages and for ego, please tell me why are you uploading. Saying "I want to help other fans" means exactly that: you want to help and get a good feeling for helping them. And seeing those messages. Rather say: I hate Yoshiki and want him to lose money.
Yes, thanks! Finally someone I can agree with. Of course you buy stuff if you wanna support your favorite artists, but you don't have to own every damn thing released so far to "qualify" yourself as a fan. :S
In other words: Buy everything the shops are still selling, don't buy used stuff.
Qualifying isn't necessary. But still it's nice to get every damn release so far. Why else people would want I'll Kill You single?
My opinions, do the things in your way if don't like my way. Upload or download it you want to, I don't care, just wanted to make you think about uploading/downloading X. I like to have a collection I can see and touch.

I'll explain few parts without quotes, I'm too lazy.
I buy CDs because I want them. If I were to buy them because I want to please artists, wouldn't I be buying every CD I see? Well, I don't, I buy only X. I might buy a CD which I don't like that much because I would like to support Yoshiki. Like Violet UK, I have heard few songs, woman singing didn't sound so good but I would buy the CD.
What I meant by Yoshiki losing money should be quite obvious, if you really thought I meant Yoshiki is losing money from his bank account, tell me, and I won't answer to your posts ever again, because you would be stupid. Losing money means not earning as much as he should.
And I thank the Internet for many things. As I said in my previous post, that is the way I learned about X Japan too. But I'm paying my "dept" by buying all X Japan's CDs/DVDs I have bought.
And yes, people want the I'll Kill You single because they want it. They want to show it to their friends irl and friends on the internet that they bought it and it is limited to on thousand copies. Or am I the only one who would brag a little with it? I don't think so, but I can be wrong I suppose. And Yoshiki wouldn't become happy about it anymore, because he wouldn't earn a cent if I would buy it, because I would have to buy used copy and that means money to the seller, not to Yoshiki.
I can't call you a non-fan, if you like X Japan, everyone knows that. But I can say that you aren't a good fan in Yoshiki's point of view, because you don't support him financially.
IMO this is too much off topic, if someone wants to discuss this more, make a topic on general and I'll post on it.

I ordered my copy of this box few minutes ago. It does cost like hell and money doesn't grow in any tree located in my backyard so at first I wasn't going to order it... But then I gave in to my urge of buying it and here I am. Hopefully it'll be shipped ASAP so I can watch it!

I think I saw it in a shop here, but it's all in Japanese. All I can understand is "X JAPAN DVD BOX 1994" smth. It was strange because it only costed 8000 yen. Is it in a pretty big silver box? It didn't feel right somehow :P

Strange.... May be it's only the White Night? Guess, that one would be silver, and the price would be correct.

Please tell me the behind the scenes DVD has English subtitles. I would have thought by now that Yoshiki would incorporate them into his releases as he has seen many dedicated fans who get their hands on his products in LA

Yep. It's 5 DVDs and 1 CD in the box. Each live consists of 2 DVDs. The fifth DVD is a docu DVD. The CD has a special version of Longing on it, a version that was only sold at the 2 Tokyo Dome lives.

Isn't it!? The booklet is beautiful, too. The phone dialogues are really bizzare, though! I will try to post a translation once I'm finished with my thesis. :D

Mav, search for a program called "DVD Region Free". Its a PC software program that runs alongside your dvd software (PowerDVD, WinDVD etc) and it bypasses region coding. I've been using it for years, its great.

I have already such a program (AnyDVD) but my device sucks... that is a type the decoder has problems with, and cannot read the DVD's anyhow.

Curious to know what do they do in order to protect the package? Does it come in an extra box or something? Or bubble bag?

I'd ordered the box from HMV. The packing is great, way better than Yesasia. They had the box wrapped in a bubble box and put in additional plastic sacks filled with air.

o.o what do you mean with seperately? There are 3 releases in total.
The limited edition box including both lives aoi yoru and shiroi yoru.
Then there are the single live editions, one ed is aoi yoru and one is shiroi yoru. They are already seperately on sale. Box is for die-hard fans and collectors ^_^
