【Ym】Feb 28 14:30 - It is said that all members will gather in early Apr and they are planning to announce something!!

I wonder what it can be. New tour? Just another two or three days of Tokyo Dome shows? Or maybe the album at last? Who knows, hard to say now.

This is really something, what else can be said? There's nothing.

This is my first time visiting this forum in what must be at least a year now. I stopped following X activities at about the same time, and after reviewing what has happened since, it seems 2012 was definitely the quietest year for X since their reunion.

But now there's news of Yoshiki finally working on his Violet UK project? He started that project way back in 2002 or something like that, with an album release proposed for 2003, but it never materialized beyond a few minor singles. Now he apparently wants to release the album for 2013? Yoshiki had an entire decade to get that album recorded and released, and now he wants to release it before this 95% completed X Japan album is finished?

And like...didn't X Japan sign a three year record deal with EMI in 2010? What ever happened to that? They released one song on iTunes, and now three years later this contract deal is going to expire with no album being materialized?

And also, just to comment about all these fangirls and fanboys who apparently can't criticize Yoshiki: This is what comes with a band that has a cult following, its just people that are so ignorant towards reality because of their extreme love and loyalty to the band and Yoshiki, that its simply impossible to have an actual discussion with them. And in the case of Yoshiki, I don't see how you can't criticize him. I'm a big fan of Yoshiki, and he is a very talented musician, but consistent delays, half completed projects, pointless side activities, and no new material in years should be a wake up call for these fangirls that Yoshiki has done nothing but prove that he is actually one of the most unreliable musicians out there. I'm a big fan of Yoshiki, but if I were an employer, I wouldn't hire Yoshiki.

It's not even a question of X Japan, its all about Yoshiki. Yoshiki is the leader of the band. He's the face of the band. All the other members have their own projects and are consistent with their activities. Sure, you could argue that the other members can try and get things done, but as we all know, its ultimately Yoshiki that has to get things done before X Japan does anything. My frustration isn't with the band as a whole, its with Yoshiki.

I think the reason is that there hasn't really been much X Japan or X Japan related news worth discussing in a long long time...this forum kind of mirrors the band XD

Very true. I visit this website everyday, but there's nothing really worth commenting on.

Not 100%, but I believe that this is a rip of The Last Song from this edition:

LINK:

very nice cut indeed! it differs a lot to the one we knew from the past so i'm sure this is the new DVD version.
what an emotional performance.. i really can feel the spirit in there! the picture quality (as far as i can judge it through youtube) looks great, sharp and nice colors.

though i'm still disappointed about a non hd-release and it's even in 4:3 ... i can't understand that :(

Yea, the 4:3 resolution is certainly a big disappointment. The least they could have done was convert it to widescreen...

X JAPAN’S BEIJING CONCERT CANCELLED

It is with great regret that X Japan announces the cancellation of the band’s November 2 date in Beijing.
Chinese officials had issued a permit and were supportive.
The cancellation is due to a last-minute decision by the promoters that included technical and production issues.

The members of X Japan are devastated by not being able to play Beijing.

The band hopes to reschedule a show in Beijing in the near future.

All other shows on X Japan’s South East Asia tour itinerary will be performed as scheduled:
October 28 – Seoul, Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium
October 30 – Shanghai, Shanghai Grand Stage
November 4 – Hong Kong, Asia World Expo
November 6 – Taipei, Nangang Exhibition Hall
November 8 – Bangkok, Impact Arena

Terrible to hear, and the world tour had been going so well for them so far!

Haha! Awesome! When I saw X Japan, they played a concert hall with actual seats, so Yoshiki couldn't jump. :(

Anyway, i'm happy you finally got to see them! Looks like South American crowds were way more wild than the crowds I saw during the North American tour! haha! :D

And maybe I'm just stupid for not knowing this or assuming otherwise, but I thought the new X album was gonna be remastered versions of the old tracks not all new recordings of them, but in that article he says they were recording Kurenai...  Are these all new takes?

The old tracks that will appear on the new album will be all new takes. 50% brand new songs, 50% old tracks rerecorded. If you're looking for remastered versions, they already did that, on the special editions of Blue Blood and Jealousy released back in 2007. :)

@ Feudal: During the Europa-Tour he didn´t get tired to talk about all the special stuff he and the other were eating/drinking that time, so you have to offer him english tea and Berliner Currywurst and maybe.... ;D ;D ;D

and btw. not that long ago he went to comic con, so you can´t tell he ignoring Amerika completly

True but let's be honest...the comic-con appearance was nothing other than promoting blood red dragon which to be honest, I could care less about. It's cool and easy way for him to make money but it's a silly way of promoting himself in North America. To each his own but not my kind of thing. They had a very strong current on news/publicity during and right after the N.A tour last year but they let it fizzle out but pretty much disappearing for a while. I'm not blaming Yoshiki/the band itself, more so their crew behind the scenes who organized it. Especially here in Toronto, it was the most RUSHED experience of the whole N.A tour. They arrived literally 2 hours before the show started and left the country for New York in under an hour after the show ended. Yes, yes, business is business and they are on a tight schedule but booking chicago and toronto back to back was silly.

I had no problem with the Toronto experience. They played an awesome show with full energy! One of the best shows i've ever been too! Does it really matter that much that they arrived and left so quick?

Besides, that tour was last year. The European tour just happened. So of course he's going to continue to talk about it for awhile. What are you expecting? That after he finished his London concert, he go right to Twitter and say "Just X'd London, but OMG TORONTO AND NEW YORK I MISS YOU!"

North America got their love last year. Europe only just got their share of the X Japan love, South America very soon, and Southeast Asia right after. Give the rest of the world a chance to get some love from Yoshiki and X! There is no reason North America should get all the attention. At least other parts of the world are willing to sellout the shows. In Toronto, I saw a couple of empty seats, and a friend of mine purchased his ticket at the door an hour before the show started; and yet, we hear of X shows in Europe selling out within a day and having to move them to bigger venues.

So, is there a reason for using a photo slideshow for tears, unfinished and forever love?
Was there no footage or something, as they weren't there in the first release?

I think what happened was, as you are probably already aware, they played those songs as S.E.'s, (i.e. they weren't preformed live) and so as the songs were played, the screens in the arena played slideshows of different photos of X Japan.

Right you are! The unedited TV rip of the concert is around on YouTube, and has extra footage that wasn't included on the DVD. Nothing special, just the true end of the concert with the S.E.'s and slideshows. During Say Anything, the band reappears to throw flowers and other things to the audience, and Tears just has a slideshow.

Here's the original thread when the topic first came up: http://www.x-freaks.com/forum/index.php?topic=3157.0

"X Japan won't be allowed to preform at the Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest. A Beijing Culture office official said that they will not allow any foreigner, in particular, any Japanese, to give the first musical performance of the venue."

Regardless of the real reason, I doubt they could have filled enough seats in the Bird's Nest. At 80000 seats, plus whatever they could fit on the floor, it seems highly unlikely they could sell that much outside Japan.
