Personally I hope that X Japan will create music for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

That would be wonderful if they could create music for the Olympics or at least play something suitable for at least one of the opening or closing shows.   Yea, it would be fantastic!

We lost out dreams along the way
But I never thought you'd trade your soul to the fates
Never thought you'd leave me alone

wow awesome, the only musicians in the top 10. I honestly thought Miyazaki would be 1st but of course now everyone is fascinated with babyfaced Yuzuru Hanyu :)

Yeah, but I think Seiji Ozawa is also a great musician. He learned from Herbert von Karajan and worked with Leonard Bernstein. Look at the brilliant names of the musicians he's been with! How could the Japanese not be proud of him? And Ozawa made a huge contribution to the interpretation of contemporary classical music. (e.g His interpretation for "Le Sacre du Printemps" is epic)

Of course I prefer X Japan to Seiji Ozawa.

Two baseball player and two figure skaters. The japanese are really into sports. :) And of course Miyazaki is in the list. No surprise here. I did not know that people value X that much. :D

While I'm away, read this line again...

Aww. I'm actually sort of moved by this. Didn't know the Japanese valued X that much, it's a nice thing to see.  ;)

But how can Miyazaki rank 4th? Miyazaki deserves the #1 spot, our great royal highness of Totoros!

Woah, I can haz admin colour.

Ghibli's works are not as popular as it used to be. But Totoro is the best animation in my life and I knew the word "hime(princess)" even when I couldn't speak a word of Japanese because of "Mononoke Hime".

Yoshiki seems to love Doraemon more than Ghibli animes. He talks a lot about Doraemon. Yoshiki made me watch it but I couldn't understand what was fun. Probably I'm too old to see Doraemon.

I think it's more probable (if they go down that route) that it'll be a Yoshiki project, akin to the tracks he made for the Emperor's coronation anniversary or Golden Globes. Or Hello Kitty....
