LOL, album 99,5% done!! hahaha . released end of the year, i hope so

Of course that .1% only goes up by one every three months XD.

Even with the good footage of Jade, I still can't tell what went so badly wrong that they had to stop playing.

Thanks for the videos rafealo/autumnglitter.

probably sound system problem, sunddenly blackoff, cause the orchestra went off suddnely as well

I don't think it was a screw up, but something prepared. You can see how Yoshiki starts playing the drums and then suddenly stands up as everything goes silent. It looks like a little surprise, something new to sing along with the fans. Apparently he mentioned something about the chorus in Twitter before the show.

thanks.. it was my first to be go to summer sonic as well as see X-Japan live so it's truly one unforgettable moment in my life. i've seen con videos of X-Japan but it's really different if you personally witness the performance. aside from the band's awesome perf,  you get to feel the crowd.. finally got to do my x jump with them.. haha..  i still feel goosebumps thinking about it.  the set was a bit short for me though and not that grandiose,  which is understandable since it's not a full concert.  i want to watch more which i might do soon.. i already got tix for their s. korea con.. can't wait to watch their full concert.. ;)

Rusty Nail and Kurenai.

You see that quick transition to Kurenai after rusty nail, why can't they be more like that.

I don't believe that transition was like that in real time...I think it's the way the video is edited. There's no way they'd do it that fast haha.

Actually now that I think about it I wouldn't want them to cut out hide's opening, oh wait they don't do it anymore.

BTBF is sooo cool =)
If Toshi had not screamed that much though, it'd have been even better ^_-
Thanx for HD!

I'll copypasta what I said on another forum because I'm too lazy to rewrite:

Quote from: Myself
I officially still think that the song is annoyingly repetitive, the guitar solo is bad and Sugizo pretending to sing back vocals is another piece of crap. I kinda hate this song.

@Joker: yep, it has some imperfection, but still, I like it somehow ^^ Maybe because it's something 'new.' Although Sugizo pretending to sing annoys me, too.. as well as Toshi screaming, haha

I don't see why it had to be a violetUK/catwalk/pop woman singing the backing vocals in the first place, why is Yoshiki trying to 'pop' up the new songs like that? This is a heavy metal band, more and more he forgets that. Why couldn't they just record Toshi for the backing vocals, it makes no sense at all. Also I think the only reason Toshi was screaming is because his voice was weak and cracking at this show and he had to something other than singing at points, I'm not sure I'll have to rewatch the video.

Btw, sorry for being off the forum for a while guys, I've just lost interest in the band right now unless something big happens or something improves.

I supposed Toshi's voice was cracking because of screaming too much, 'cause during Kurenai he sounded much better -_-' IDK though..
Yes, X is a metal band, but what's distinguished them from others is their experiments with mixing smth that cannot be mixed together ^^ Even if it is weird sometimes. So, I'd consider BTBF to be another experiment of X's *or Yoshiki's*. And it depends on everyone's taste whether it's a fail  or a hit.

BTW, dont know why but I do like the backing vocals, even though it'd be better if Sugizo sang 'em >_>

what's distinguished them from others is their experiments with mixing smth that cannot be mixed together

They were best at that in 1990-1993 when they were mixing about three ballads amongst their 20 song setlist of songs like Standing sex, not only is three songs one more song than a huge amount of other metal bands would play, but it wasn't just the number, it was the style of the ballads, these are really sad ballads, way sadder and more classic/w orchestra than any other band would play next to their metal epics. Also the small portion of ballad type breaks in songs like Kurenai was unique, but they didn't abuse it like now.

They were best at the unique veriety of ballads and metal back then.

Something Yoshiki also doesn't realise, you can't come out saying "this next song Jade, is going to be the most heavy song X Japan has ever made" or "we're gonna rock the house down with this/these new songs", or a type of comment like that about the current setlist/jade/btbf when you're the person who made Blue Blood, Standing Sex, Vanishing Love, Stab me in the back etc. When you've made those types of songs you can't claim anything like  "we're gonna rock the house down" with Jade or change history by trying to ignore and forget the past. That's just what I think about a band anyway.
