I like that name, Sirimono... it's part of a KISS song! :D

And a Siouxsie and the Banshees song, and an awesome Stephen King novel AND movie!
There's so many awesome things about your name, Sirimono XD.

My real name is Fauve. Which is French for 'wild animal'. Ahaha!

I want to win something exciting, tooooooooooo!

@ Sirimono: Don't worry - it's hard to avoid the Christianity while choosing names here in European area. :P

Quote from: "Wikipedia"

Translated (roughly ): The female name Anja is the russian term of endearment from Anna/Anne. It means blessing or the blessed.
-> Anna: According to Catholic and Orthodox lores Anna (Hebrew "Hannah") is the name of Jesus Christ's grandmother, Mary's mother and Joachim's (Hebrew "Jojakim") wife.

:P I'm Jesus' granny! Yay!

 Wait! My father's name is Joachim! My father is my husband? Ewwwwwwwww!!!!! :(

mod mode

And out of the chaos I heard a voice telling me:
"Smile and be happy - it could have become worse!"
So I smiled and was happy... and it became worse

hey but most european names come from the christianity or latin/greek.
I think it's extremely interesting to research names actually  :o

my name is just especially bad because it's not just the name of a person appearing in the bible... it means translated "the christian". My name states that i must be christian and of no other belief :(

Yes, it's one version of it. There are other versions too, like Aleksis but Aleksi is most common.

Is it a common name in Germany ?

Me and my two sisters have all names starting with "L", so we all have the same initials :D

It is a common but old-fashioned, i think.

Sigrid comes from the rather northern parts of europe, scandinavia.

It means something like the pretty victory (german sieg = victory)

the male form is Sigfried?
