So, do you play any instruments? If you do so, which and for how long have you been playing them now?

I've been playing guitar for about 6 months or more now (I don't have a teacher), and I LOVE IT. I don't know why I refused to learn how to play any instrument when I was younger, now I really regret I didn't start earlier.

As for others, I can play the piano a bit and most Orff instruments ( :P ). I also do have an ocarina at home (at the time I bought it I was convinced I really needed one), can't play it, tho.

Oh yeah, and if my voice counts as an instrument, I use that one very much as well

RIP

I play guitar and sing in a band. I've played for a few years, tho I did go to some acoustic guitar lessons when I was younger. I wen't about a year to those lessons and then had enough of them, they kinda sucked ass, but it's good that I wen't there, I learned all the basics and now it was much easier to pick up the electric guitar.

And as for me, I can't play much on guitar and no other instruments either... But I sing... Not as in solo but in choior and an a capella band.

I have been playing piano non-actively for.. I gotta count now. I started when I was.. seven. So it'll be ten years this year. I haven't been taking classes since I was 12, but I play piano by myself at home. At the moment I'm practising left hand notes for Tears and Amethyst.

I also have acoustic guitar, and I truly would like to have some teaching with it. I have tried to learn by myself, but my hurries and school things and like that have come to the way. At least when I'll move out from home in one and half years, I'll buy myself an electric guitar, or bass if I find it more attractive.

I also can sing a little - well, I was at music class when I was young and I sang in choir and like that, but nowadays I don't do it anymore. Usually just sing when I'm alone or with my friends.

Dammmit, age competition, I have missed something interesting...

I hope there are some sofas around, as I'll very gladly just sit, watch your lovely debate and then invite you both for something interesting to drink.

(NOOO just not in Japan, I do not think I need to get financially ruined for the first time I invite someone to something.)

Now onto the matter of singing, didn't you by chance think of recording your singing some day?    :P

Forever love, forever dream.

Aim for the future, or the past will eat you up alive and think you are very yummy.

Yeah, and it's a shame. If things go like I want them to, I'll give it a shot soon.

Pretty late to start at 19 though :/

Dangle, it is nice you have quite a high thought of yourself, but I'd personally prefer to hear first and judge later 8)

Bleh I meant I know I would be fast, dunno about keeping good rythm to be honest. And it is really the only thing I have thought myself high of, having fast arms. You know when you have been in fights :P

I know I'll never make it as guitarist, therefore no high thought of myself :(

na it just takes practice.. lots... i'm a lazy guitarist so hahaha

but ya for drums, rhythm is the most important. but like i said.. everything is based on practice and getting used to it..

Actually, I learnt how to play drum while I was around Grade 9. But I quite because drumming alone is not that fun since I don't have any chance to settle up a band. (Most of my friend were a kind of girls who concentrate only on studying. )

And PN, I don't think it's appropriate to talk about the age in this forum. Let keeps it secret. hahaha

12 string? wow. that's impressive. I only tried a 12 strings once in a music shop, but that's about it.

the sound is very diff.

Its almost as different from an Ovation to a regular Acoustic Guitar.

that guitar has been on the family for quite a long time my dad got it given when he started playing at like age of 12 i think and well , its on my hands for now until i have kids :p

and yes the sound is very different , but while playing full chords songs it sounds much nicer , more complete

well , the concept of a 7 string guitar is way different than a 12 string , since well at least mine 12 string is played like a regular 6 string but you have to push 2 string at the same time and this creates the "complete" sound that i was talking about because u can hear higher notes and lower notes all over the place wich is really good  :)

I sang for about 6 years, played trumpet for 2 years, and right now I wanna learn drums.

ya i'm fully aware of that.

i was just stating that i owned a 7 string for a while. but never really came across my mind that i'll buy a 12 strings.

i'm still more into elec more than acous..

ever tried that baritone guitar fernandez came out with? it sounds pretty good

How is the 12 string guitar tuned btw? Is it like the lowest string E, and then the next is E but an octave higher, the next A, octave higher A etc. ?
