Me too...! I get so fidgety when there's new stuff on their twitter or myspace accounts, even if its just personal stuff (but I can never reply to any of their posts because I'm far too shy). And then I blush and feel ten years younger for obsessing so much over a band...  :-[

Yoshiki gets so many replies that I doubt he reads any but a few. I'd just skim over them and read the most interesting ones. But I guess it depends on how much free time he has. :)

I have a random question. It's not even something that really matters, but I am curious to see if anyone else noticed the same thing as me.

At the end of the show, I moved up to the front to meet some friends and I saw a staff member pick a picture frame from the stage floor and bring it to the back. I have been wondering what picture that frame was holding, and if anyone saw it, either here or at other shows.

I was guessing it might be a picture of hide (they did have a big plushie standing on an amp on the right), or maybe Sugizo's daughter as the frame seemed to be close to where he would stand for most of the show.

Sorry for the weird question, it's just been bugging me for some reason haha. You know, when you have an image stuck in your brain and it won't go away. Ok maybe I'm just crazy dee~~daaahh~~.

Also, anything to keep this thread going.

Why would it be framed? I saw a guy rip off the paper set list from the floor right next to the same spot so I doubt it. But maybe you're right.

no your right, they wouldnt have framed it lol, Maybe it was a mirror so Sugizo could watch himself rock out, thats totally plausible lol

I would vote for that... Or a picture of his daughter.

On the same note... Did anyone notice the crewmembers putting some guitar on a stand near Yoshiki's piano during the encore before Endless Rain? I thought it was hide's guitar, but when the lights went on it was not there...

The only random thing i saw that night was the second pianist for AoL but everyone already knows about that lol. I didnt even see that big hide plushy.....talk about tunnel vision......or fan vision lol

Just a bit of news: Just before X played at Massey Hall I emailed Alan Cross (102.1The EDGE) and suggested that he could talk a bit about the Japanese music scene and of course about X. Now low and behold: he did it. About 2 weeks ago his piece on Japanese music scene and X Japan aired on The Edge and they just aired it as a re-run. He talked about the fact that the Japanese music scene is actually larger then the one in the UK and he talked extensively about X Japan with the mention of their US tour and up-coming North American single: Jade.
Cool huh? :D

http://ondemand.exploremusic.com/publicms/index/view/ I hope the link works.About 10 minutes in X Japan Jade is listed as today's #1 of the top 5 songs to listen to (they actually play most of the song)! This is the podcast of a show that aired previously = Jade played on the radio here in Toronto!  ;D

BTW, the whole show is worth listening to. Lots of great music! Oh, it is the episode titled: Pronounced"Odds" and you cen also find it through http://exploremusic.com/ and click on ExploreMusic the radio show listen on demand.

Bon Jovi is having a live youtube stream of thier NYC concert at 8 pm est tonight. I really think X japan could have used this to promote thier band in the USA when they had the N/A tour, give the doubters and mainstreams are chance to listen and look at the band without selling out any money. Just my 2 cents.

A French (and more understandable) version available : Francais

Here is a "small" summary of this very great and exhausting weekend.

I went to 2 (Toronto and New York)! Both show was awesome! but also very different.
Toronto was smaller with the hardcore fan. But very neat because of assigned seats and chairs.
New York, a party atmosphere in a metal show. General admission so we had to arrive early to get a good seat (first Thursday for Sunday evening concert). In the room, already very tight at the start people are tight, and tight even start approaching.
During the first toune we were unable to move consciously ... It was a square wave (3 steps forward, forward tilt because the foot can no longer forward but it still grows ... then left rear, right) Unable to lift / lower arm ... or even to breathe.
2nd toune the laws of the jungle to operate. Those who were too close asked to leave. After it was quiet, there was room to breathe and even jump!

In Toronto, I was with a Quebecois (Québec flag on photo 55) and 4 cute girls from Quebec. One of them was supposed to send me these photos by email, but I have not heard yet.
I understand I just finish either.

In New York I took only videos because I had my "camera-suicide" (used when risk of breaking / losing)

Photo : http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i415/Bigmac_XJapan/X-Japan%20Toronto%2007-X-X/

Toronto: I was far enough but with a very good view (in height).
So the result is quite good.

New York was pretty chaotic. Finally I put all the videos I had taken. Most are mini-sample of very poor quality ... but it gives an idea of the atmosphere.

Finally the story:
Departure from Montreal to Toronto by bus at 9:30.
Arrived in Toronto around 16:30. Wander a bit in the city to find food because the show was assigned place. What made me miss the group arrived at the theater. :-(
Went to the line around 18:30 for the show to 20h.
Waited in the queue and then start talking with demonIced then the 4 girls.
Entered the room to get to the merchant. Bought 2 T-Shirt!
Speaking shortly before the show then head to our seats!
The show was awesome! The atmosphere during the intro was insane.
After the show we stayed to see them go. (See the last video)
After a beer with nachos.
Then we escorted the girls to their hotel room.
DemonIced and I were pretty dumb to plan not to sleep. So we continued talking as we walked all night.
At 5:30 DemonIced returned to the terminal for a nap before leaving at 7.30am.
I left to get around the city. I went back around 7am to get warm ... and I finally slept 1h being unable to move when seated: x
Then I move to go around the city by day! Before I left at 11:30.
Friday night alone. I ate and I went to bed early.

Saturday starting at 7:30 for a new anime convention in Quebec City (Cap and Kimono).
I was in Quebec between 10:10 to 3 am (morning) before returning to Montreal.
Arrived in Montreal around 6 am. A little quick shower before getting dressed for the bus at 7:30. I was dead tired for the half-hour subway ride...
I arrived at the terminal took 2 muffin because I did not eat since Friday night. : X
Although slept in the bus!
Transfer to Albany, where I met two Quebecers who went to the show!
Considering the amount of people, there were 2 bus to Montreal / New York at the same time.
Arrived in New York to 17h... in line at 17:17 for the show at 19h.
The line began at the corner of 52nd and Broadway (they arrived on Thursday) ... I corner 53rd and 8th.

The line has quickly than around the block. (When we arrived at the entrance, we had to catch the end of the queue (first video))
In the queue we were given a sheet for Toshi Birthday by a Japanese who was trying to explain the concept.
http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i415/Bigmac_XJapan/?action=view&current=Toshi.jpg
After Kurenai, at Yoshiki's signal, everybody had to put the leaf on his forehead and sing Happy Birthday Toshi! (video #18)
At 18h, another Japanese came with a stack of pizza! He was distributing pizza offered by the group! Very good idea given the time and that several people had been there very long. So I ate a point which was good after the muffin of the morning ;-)
Then we finally came almost on time!
As I already said the crowd was very compact and growing force that was approaching the start!
During the first toune we were unable to move consciously ... It was a square wave (3 steps forward, forward tilt because the foot can no longer forward but it still grows ... then left rear, right) Unable to lift / lower arm ... or even to breathe.
2nd toune the laws of the jungle to operate. Those who were too close to be called out. After it was quiet, there was room to breathe and even jump!

So I scream, jump, sing gave me thoroughly without worrying about video this time. : P
After the show I once again waited for the departure of the group. Wait at least 1:30... It was pretty chaotic for Yoshiki quick exit from the rear. (53rd Avenue, where I was with the Japanese groupies). Still waiting 1 hour before it is known that the rest of the group came out from the front. (52nd Avenue)

This time I had a hostel where I went to sleep after a meal!
I visited a bit the next day before returning to Montreal to 18h sad and very tired.
Customs return was quite long (45mins) but arrived early at about 2 in Montreal.
Slept a little before going to work... it took me a week to get over it: whistle:

I look forward to their next visit!
X
Bigmac

I'm glad to hear from you again after the Toronto show and I'm happy you had a good time in NY.

It's been almost 5 months since the concert and I've finally decided to post! ^^;

I just want to say that not only was X Japan amazing that night, but you guys were amazing as well. The general vibe the crowd gave off was awesome. I did see a bunch of people fixed to their seats and almost emotionless.  I can only assume that it was because they were so blown away by the performance in front of them that they were stunned into immobility! (lol) ^p^

I re-call during "Forever Love" Sugizo snapped some pics. I'm curious.  Does anyone know if he's uploaded them somewhere?

Well I much like yourself most likely didnt sit once during that night....cept during vampires lol.

as for Sugizos pics i would imagine he just kept those for himself, just for personal memories of their first NA tour.

lol, ok I admit sitting during Vampires, but, at least, I was paying close attention to them.  I mean, that counts for something, right?  I felt bad and wanted to stand when they hoped for us to stand, but felt to self-conscious about doing that since everyone else was sitting.  Honestly thought they weren't too bad, except for the screaming, which is more of a personal preference.  ^^;;

I was thinking that Sugizo would keep the pics for himself, but I've noticed that, since he got himself a twitter account (after the X Japan NA tour), he has the tendency to post many pics he took when he was on tour with Luna Sea .
