Can't really say that much about them after Syd left, but the first albums are masterpieces! I gave the the stuff without Syd a listen as well but wasn't really that impressed. I think I should give it another try...

The Syd-era is deafineatly(sp?) the best Floyd has to offer but the later stuff is great too. Though Dark Side Of The Moon is one of the overrated albums of all time, it sounds even artificial time to time.. Some great songs like Money and Time on it nevertheless. But if you want to get in to post-Syd Floyd get Wish You Were Here (tribute album to Syd), The Wall and The Final Cut.

For anyone who likes Art Of Life (is there anyone who doesn't :D ) and classic rock I suggest to get Pink Floyd - Echoes: The Best Of Pink Floyd. It includes most of the best tracks and is made to flow (= it sounds like an album, not a complication of songs).

@Wando: Thanks for the recommendations, I think we actually do have The Wall at home somewhere  :)
I know that we do have some Best Of album, not sure whether it's the one you recommended, tho.
@Saint(c): WTF? Ok, if you don't like them, fine, but then please stay out of the thread. What songs by them made such a bad impression, anyway?

I don't really understand, so I can't get protective of a band I'm fan of just because this is a X forum? Wouldn't you defend X on a non X forum if somebody said something bad about them?

Relax, will ya? :D Saint(c) is justified to his own opinion.. After all, it's his lost ;)

Let's get back on Floyds awesomness. Anyone of you seen The Wall-movie? I really didn't understand it while watching but later I've began to appreciate it and I found a whole other level of the album.. Now I'm just scred to watch it again if it won't live up to the image it has created in my mind

I used to like them a lot way back when and still listen to them from time to time, but I don't think I can really rate them, because just how much a like a band and their music often depends on what mood I am at the moment.

But I'd definitely count them among the better bands that have been around.

Hehehe, well, the Starlight Yoshiki dolls are beautiful and really I am so happy to have them (again). And can't believe me good luck that I got all three of them altogether. :)

So that must have been on The Wall tour.. Did they actually have the giant wall built up? Most of the later-Floyd tours have been spectacular but I've allways been interested of The Wall tour.. Must have been awesome ^^
