Why the name Aoi Yoru/Shiroi Yoru?

This might be a pretty random question but I really have no idea and I'd like to know..

Well they mean Blue Night and White Night respectively. From Kurenai onwards in the gigs they were blue on the first night and white on the second, maybe that was it.

Also the colours mean something in Japanese (like red = evil etc.) though I'm not sure what they mean.

you know,青夜/白夜(chinese characters,and also japanese characters)=Aoi Yoru/Shiroi Yoru(their japanese pronunciation)=Blue Night / White Night
 
just the two characters "青"and"白" let me think of one peom of Juyi Bai whose peoms are quite famous and popular in both china and japan  from one thousand years till now..........for us chinese and japanese and maybe some other asians,these tow charactor means that kind of feel ......
