Not meant like "X is great, SEE THEM!" but as in "I must see them before I bite the dust, I just HAVE TO".

Fortunately, I've already been to a concert of my favourite band, so technically I could die happily  :P  (no, it's not X) But there are still some I feel the need to see (like X-Japan, even though I wouldn't be crushed if I never saw them).

Unfortunately, some bands I would have died to see in concert are no more or the musician has died or the band/musician just isn't THAT good anymore.

You tell me yours, I tell you mine

RIP

There are a few bands I desperately want to see, but some of them have already split up (and I can't expect every band to do a reunion XD).

- Judy and Mary: Are seriously amazing live from the DVDs I've got, but they aren't together anymore.
- Bis (Scottish one, not the vkei band): Aren't together anymore either, but they have done reunion concerts in the past so I'm hoping they might again, one I can actually go to XD.
- X Japan: Well yeah, I can't believe I might actually see them live! I used to cry over the fact that I would never see them live.
- The Cure: There's one I've already seen XD.
- Sparklehorse: Seen as well! *happy*
- The Clash: Well, can you say 'never gonna happen?'. A Clash reunion would be a horrible thing anyway, but I'm very sad I wasn't even born yet when they were performing...

I think this is just a list of my all-time favourite bands o.o;;.

Bands I wanna see before I die :

X Japan
Johnny Cash :'(
MUCC

Bands I wanted to see before I die and I did see :

Guns N'Roses (3 times :D)
Ozzy Osbourne
Alice Cooper
Metallica
Bon Jovi (3 times)
Garbage
Megadeth

I'm so happy to have starting listening to JRock this summer cause I saw Ozzy Osbourne in June 07 and it was the last one on my list (except Johnny Cash of course) that I wanted to see before I die.

for me it would be System of a down they're my most often played band and well... I just love them!
Sadly they're on a hiatus and work on their own projects... so sadly right when I could have the chance to go to their concert, they don't tour anymore T_T

I really gotta see them as soon they play together again!!!

Another band would be... Machine i just love the little band of Hakuei and Kiyoshi!! I love them so much, but they're not very much known in or outside of japan XD so seeing them will be very tough

Thåström, is he active nowadays? I heard he uses a studio here in Karlstad xD;

I'd love to see (excluding disbanded acts)

1. X Japan (well, duh. I used to cry over this)
2. Coaltar of the Deepers (GodDAMN I love Nackies music.)
3. Merry (so goddamn special and great music, especially the older works)
4. Muse (come on, legends :D I'd die to see Matt work his magic on stage)
5. machine (Hakuei and Kiyoshi are huge love.)
6. System of a Down (wow, yeah. They're also great.)

Can't think of any more right now.

David Bowie - absolute legend and one of the most influential artists of all time. His wild make up and dress sense is awesome. So many catchy songs and wonderful entertainer. Would be good for him to do a farewell concert as he is getting on a bit now.

Bob Dylan - Pure legend , one of the greatest song writers. His voice isn't the same as it used to be but still would like to see him before Dylan isn't around anymore.

The Clash - Really enjoyable band who are known for their amazing live acts. If only i had the ability to time travel..

Other notable mentions : The Velvet Underground , The Smiths.

Pavement ist rad

OH YES, how could I forget him?!
Last year there were actually rumours he'd make a new CD, it was even in the newspaper.

Seen him twice, he still rocks.  TOTALLY worth it if you ever get the chance, funny voice and all. :)

As for me... I'm not really the "OMG I WOULD DO ANYTHING ON EARTH TO SEE ____ PLAY LIVE" type.  But these are the bands that I haven't seen and would be... hmm... extremely enthusiastic about seeing, if they played anywhere close by:

D.T.R
Rock'n Roll Standard Club Band (no idea if they ever even performed live...)
X Japan
Loudness (original lineup, or if by some strange chance it were to happen again, 1992 lineup with Masaki and Taiji)
Seikima II
Cloud Nine
Kings (good luck...)
really any of the major '80s Japanese metal bands
Buck-Tick and Luna Sea, "for old time's sake"

And yeah, that's all Japanese bands, because I've already seen most of my American must-see bands:
B'z (OK, they're Japanese too)
KISS
Aerosmith
Poison (twice)
Motley Crue
Bob Dylan
LA Guns

And if I could build a time machine:
X!
hide, especially during the "Hide Your Face" era
Johnny Cash

Sadly I must agree about the "older days" part... I saw them a couple years ago (after having wanted to see them forever), and it was honestly one of the most disappointing concerts I've been too. :?  Made me sad, since I love them so much.  (And it wasn't BAD or anything, just not great like I expected.)

I have to say, Motley Crue was disappointing too.  I went to a Scorpions + Motley Crue concert and... yeah.  Neither were what I'd hoped for.  But I saw them under bad circumstances (not-great venue with a really weird atmosphere) so maybe that's not quite fair.  I'd be willing to give both another chance (and still listen to both too)...

Oh, and I'll join you in your time machine for Appetite GNR, EZO, Meat Loaf, old Bon Jovi...

Forgot to add to my list (time machine or otherwise): DEF LEPPARD!  How did I forget them again?

I saw Aerosmith in September and thought it was a pretty good show. The fact I was inebriated before the show even began and it was the first concert I've ever seen probably enhanced my enjoyment of the show though. :P

Metallica, Paul McCartney and X Japan are really the only bands I'd have on a "see before I die list" but a reunited Axl, Slash and Duff line up of Guns N' Roses (wouldn't even matter to me whose on the other guitar or drums as long as they're good!) would be pretty up there too. If I were to include just bands I wanna see and "time machine" scenarios, this would be one loooooong list.

KISS (will FINALLY see them live this summer!!!!)
Judas Priest (same as with KISS)
Pagan Altar (already saw them in November, but once wasn't enough, hehe)
Sabbat (also this summer)
Blue Oyster Cult (same)
Magnesium (fat chance that that'll happen, as they only play live once every couple of years...)
Manowar (would love to go to the Magic Circle Festival, but sadly enough I don't have the money for it)
Gorgon (again, not that big of a chance)
Solstice
Hell (I'd love to see them in the original line up, but due to singer Dave Halliday's death that'll be a bit hard I'm afraid. But the reunion lineup seems to be okay as well)
Brocas Helm
X
Trespass (again, not very likely)
Arghoslent
Manilla Road (perhaps in May, don't know yet)
Molly Hatchet
Lynyrd Skynyrd

And the list goes on....
