With so many people joining this forum recently, I felt like posting a D.T.R intro thing, in case there's anyone out there who's curious about D.T.R but doesn't know where to start-- especially since D.T.R info can be hard to find.
And hey: these guys rock! If you like rock/metal and are looking for something new to try, check it out.
Intro:D.T.R-- originally called DIRTY TRASHROAD-- is a Japanese metal band, founded by Taiji Sawada (TAIJI from X) in 1994. They're relatively hard and heavy, but they also incorporate a lot of acoustic guitar and other country-western elements and themes. "Cowboy metal" would be a good description, especially in their early days.
They released two full albums, one mini-album, one video, and one single. After the second album, vocalist Mitsuo Takeuchi quit the band and D.T.R ceased activity soon after. Taiji has said that he doesn't want to comment on why he decided to stop D.T.R. A compilation album was released after the band stopped.
D.T.R re-started in 2005. Since then they've performed some concerts, and they released a new single near the end of last year. This new single is the only D.T.R material currently in print.
Members:Taiji Sawada, Mitsuo Takeuchi, and Taiji Fujimoto are the only members to have performed on every release.
A note on the keyboardists: Kenji Shimizu played keyboard on the live tracks on the "Drive to Revolution" CD. It seems that he may have been their live keyboardist for quite some time
(more info really appreciated if anyone knows), though Shigeo Komori was used for the '90s studio tracks.
