If you're sick of runnin' baby just walk it and be carefree
Take a break and maybe you'll find a different color ahead
Take or break it it's your life
So twilight it, come light it now

Especially these lines make me think about inspiration and getting new ideas, when you're stuck in a situation where you think you can't go on. Just take a rest then and try to see all from a different point of view to maybe find the answer that makes you go on again.

Hm, about the rest I'm not really sure. To me it doesn't really sound like a love song, but much more like a hint how you could find your own way.
I mean D.T.R often say Go your own way!, but in case someone doesn't know really what his/her own way would be, they maybe try to help finding that way. Hmm.. I'm not sure really. :?

What gives you the impression that it could be a love song? Is there something special in the lyrcs? Maybe I didn't see it on my own.

mod mode

And out of the chaos I heard a voice telling me:
"Smile and be happy - it could have become worse!"
So I smiled and was happy... and it became worse

I feel the same way about this song. To me Mitsuo is basically telling someone that sometimes you just gotta take a break, and enjoy your life... "The best of times only comes around once in a long long while"... To me this doesn't sound like a love song either...

But I have to agree with Hollywood, this song is pretty similar to "Running With The Wind"... Great acoustic stuff...

About the love song thing, it strikes me as something you'd say to a girl you like who's lost her way somehow.  Just my interpretation-- which isn't the only possible one of course-- but here's why I see it that way:

Tremblin' little baby bird you have yet to fly
When DTR starts a song like this, I can't imagine the character in the song is talking to a guy.  If the song were addressed to a guy I'd expect the opening line to be more like "Hey cowboy!  Get off your ass!" :P

you know I hear your softest sigh
A rather romantic/intimate thing to say.

Just the way you are, you are, oh baby, just the way you are
Just the way you color your smile, just the way you smile

It seems like he likes her and wants to be reassuring.

So to me it sounds like a subtle love song-- not some big dramatic declaration of his immortal love (this isn't X after all ), but some nice supportive things to say to a girl he cares about.
