This is a great song... In my opinion the perfect opening for a concert... The opening riff is soooo cool! And that riff at around 2:50, right before the solo, is just as great! Never expected this one to be a Mitsuo composition...

About the lyrics, I believe Hollywood's first explanation is the best one... Though there are some pieces where I also got the idea of being between life and death... Nice lyrics btw!

STILL ALIVE! Uncofirmed info...

Hm.... drugs? *runs out evil laughing*
Just saw the movie Spun - btw. Rob Halford has a little role in it - and felt reminded of that. :P There it seemed also like a border line between being clean and having a trip.

And out of the chaos I heard a voice telling me:
"Smile and be happy - it could have become worse!"
So I smiled and was happy... and it became worse

Agreed!  I wonder, DID they ever open a concert with this?  I don't even know what their concert set lists were like...

And musically it reminds me slightly of X on occasion-- at least, more than their other songs-- must be the double-bass drumming and the shouted BOTTOM LINE/STILL ALIVE/etc. stuff.  But then at about 2:20 or so it goes into Led Zeppelin mode for a while before the solo.  Cool song, I like the lyrics too.

You said it, not me! :P  I think he's on the border line of whether he wants to hit the cops with TOWELS.
