Damn! I forgot about this sharing thing again...

But my intention was not actually sharing... I just posted that song here so you guys could compare it to D.T.R... Well, I fixed the link, but if this can't really be posted here just let me know and I'll remove it...

Ah, I think that way it's okay. :)

And I only was able to hear the beginning - no clue why, but my browser was complaining about a runtime error. =_=
Well, however - what I've heard was really not bad! 8)

Jacks'n Joker!  They were pretty cool, I have their self-titled album.  I hadn't previously thought of them as sounding like DTR but I'll take another listen and see.  For sure they seem like the kind of thing Taiji might be into, though.

I never knew they had a Gastunk connection, that's really interesting.

And heheh, yeah, Taiji does have that exact shirt.  Though I guess it's not that weird since a lot of guys in the glam metal scene wear Lip Service brand stuff, Bret Michaels (Poison) in the Unskinny Bop video has the pants for example.  (But not the exact ones that the Jacks'n Joker guy on the far right does... little bit different.)

Another possible DTR influence: The Cult?  English band, hard rock with some Native American themes.

Lip Service brand??? Uhm... yummy?
But yeah, it seems to be not so unique between all the rockers, hehe.

Yes, very.  Well, they've gotten more goth and fetish-y now... I liked when it was more rock'n'roll, but they've still got some of that too, so it's cool.

There's also a fairly well-known (I think?) photo of Taiji from the Jealousy days with a Lip Service t-shirt.  He's sitting down with his right hand on the floor and his left hand on top of his head, wearing a jean vest with a ripped black t-shirt under it-- I can't find that photo now, but anyway, you can see "LIP S" on the shirt before the rip.

Hm... yeah... yummy! 8) Woah! He's so hot, his T-shirt burns (what a lame joke :P)!

Interesting site btw. - but really confusing. I didn't really get the navigation there. Maybe a blonde moment again, who knows. :?

Well, to me their third album, "Inside Outlaw", is the one which sounds more like D.T.R... I have to listen to their self-titled album again to see if it really sounds like D.T.R as well... But to me Nixx voice is pretty similar to Mitsuo at some moments...

In that case I'm having a blonde moment too (and I'm not even blonde)-- I can't figure it out either. :P  I thought it was just me, or just my bad connection, heheh.

And somehow I knew you'd know which pic I meant... that is really, really a great photo of him.

I listened to my Jacks'n Joker self-titled album and... huh.  Maybe once every now and then it sounds like DTR, but overall I didn't think so (sorry!).  Probably it's only Inside Outlaw that has that sound, I guess.

You know, actually I'm somewhat relieved that the pic ends early enough below. And I could slap myself for that shallow comment now, haha! Sometimes I'm a sexist, but I think that's just R'n'R!

Ahem... back to topic! *sweats* I don't know why, but sometimes I was thinking of if The Rolling Stones could also be an influence. Not that obvious maybe, but since both - The Rolling Stones and D.T.R - can be kind of bluesy... aaah, I don't know, just an idea.

Hahahahaha...

About Jacks 'N' Joker... I guess only that song I posted really sounds D.T.R-ish... Maybe I was just too amused by that fact to name them as an obvious influence... But to me they're still a probable influence...  8)

And about The Rolling Stones... Well... Who hasn't been influenced by them?  8)

I'd say you don't need to feel so guilty about it-- after all, I don't imagine he would have posed like that if he really hated the idea of fans checking him out.  Band members in purposely sexy poses = R'n'R too. 8)

And I must agree with Arucard about the Stones, heheh.

Another one I think no one's mentioned yet: The Eagles?  I mean, if the Eagles ever for some reason decided to go heavy metal, that'd be DTR right there. :P

Or if you want ALL OF THEM , that's cool too, I can try to do one song a day or so.

That would be kinda nice...

About this JURIA... I have a scan of the back of Acoustic, and he's credited for the lyrics of "Circle Of Nations"... "First Small Song" and "Towards Red Earth"'s lyrics are credited to JURIA & GO...

Now... Correct me if I'm wrong, but... These are instrumental tracks... O.O

My personal fan theory is that JURIA is TAIJI himself. The songs that JURIA got credited for kinda give a hint. Plus if you've heard a bit of TAIJI's personal life around the time of DTR you might also be able to guess why I came to that conclusion :)

Even if it's not TAIJI himself, my guess would still be that this is someone very close to TAIJI that he hired to be credited for under that name.
