General chat / Re: New song?
« on: August 29, 2009, 11:12:55 PM »
More new songs? Let's hope that they're better than Jade. I think I.V. definitely had hooks and a really good chorus. Jade on the other hand was a pile of doodoo that's like the ugly baby of a bad nu metal song and a ballad... I still hope Yoshiki has it in him to write stuff like Blue Blood and Kurenai.

Offtopic / Re: Religion or whatever you believe in
« on: August 23, 2009, 02:49:08 AM »
My people learned first hand the suffering and wrongdoings of the Christian religion, in residential schools and the 'purification of the lands' by raping, murdering, and kidnapping millions of people believed to be savages and godless. Our way of life was even outlawed, from our religion to our spoken language.
Dispite the bitterness of my people for these atrocities, I place my blame in those who wrote the Bible.
The Bible itself has been re-written many times since it's first publishment and is most likely nothing what Jesus wanted to be heard and done by those he lead.

I'm sorry, but that is bullshit. They were murdered by people using christianity for their own goals, like to increase their wealth or whatever. You make it sound like a devout christian nowadays should repent for another man's sins. And would you happen to have any sources regarding how many times the bible was, as you claim, rewritten? As far as I know that isn't common knowledge.

And not to sound disrepectful, but when someone's brain is blown to pieces praying, performing a ceremony or saying mass isn't going to do anything.

I forgot to mention I hate religion too. :P

Umm... didn't you just go on bible camp or something like that? :P

Almost everybody in Finland go to a "bible camp" when they're 15. And we get lots of money after the confirmation.

So your parents force you, or is it more of a traditional Finnish thing?

MONEY!! I should do a camp like that too!! : O

I'm a terrible person. XD

You should convert to either Catholicism or Judaism then, that way you can get lots of money for either your holy communion or your batmizvah. ;D

I think that was out of place... If you don't like him, fine. But there's no need for that kind of talk... It's pretty disrespectful. And we don't know if what you said is true or a false accusation, and I hardly think that in this case, it matters one iota.

Yeah, looking back that might've been a bit harsh. My apologies.

there's always gotta be one asshole don't there. if you dont like him him why bother to write anything. unless you wanted to piss everyone off. and i don't care if any one dos not like what i say. but MJ was my childhood soundtrack and my idol growing up. i have nothing but the highest respect for him. he might not have been the sainest man but who cares. all the pedo shit was false. he has taken such a bad rap for so long now. its time to remember his music not the bullshit the media wanted you to believe. so leave the negative shit out of here. show some fucking respect for the members of this site. but that's the problem everyone always thinks of themselves.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson you moonwalked in to our hearts now your moonwalking in heaven. music will never be the same.

Oh yeah, I'm such an asshole for stating my opinion. Or wait... that's what messageboards are for, right? Stating your opinion..... and stuff?  ::)

He may have made a couple of killer songs, but he still was a dirty paedo bastard. Good riddance.

Lmao, a couple of killer songs eh? At least google before you embarrass yourself. As for the other thing, there were two accusations, nothing was proven.

Wow, did I actually embarrass myself on teh interwebs? I think I'm gonna sit over in the corner in fetal position and cwy....  ::) And what I'm supposed to google for then, eh? "Killers songs by Michael Jackson"? Niggah puhleeeaaase.

long post

Yeah, really reliable source you got there buddy...

I've only heard Deathrash Bound, which is pretty cool but nothing really special. To these ears it sounds like a tamer version of Vengeance Rising and Dark Angel. The best Japanese thrash band is still Sabbat. ;D

Germans call a patch vest a kutte right? I have one too. Barely ware it though. Not too many gigs to go to around here and it doesn't seem right to wear it to bars or to school, haha.

5/10. Way too modern sounding for my taste, but I guess it isn't the worst thing I've ever heard.

Savage Grace - Bound To Be Free. I remember posting this a while back, saying it sounds a bit like old X. Good ol' fashioned speed metal.

I found my Nintendo 64 again yesterday and I've been playing with it ever since. Reminds me of playing videogames 24/7 back in the nineties, hehe. Luckily I've cut down a little. ;D

Journey is great, no matter who's behind the mic. The last couple of albums are so much better than the last two records with Steve (although Raised On Radio did have its moments).

1. I probably wouldn't be bothered by it. There's a reasonable explanation for everything.
2. I like the first record, the stuff before that and parts of the two LPs after that. My favorite songs are Wasted and Photograph.
3. Ummm... do my brilliant Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation...?

Other Bands / Re: Stryper
« on: March 10, 2009, 09:28:03 PM »
Man, if there is one band that I can't take seriously it's Stryper. I'll admit I really like the song Loud 'n Clear, but the other stuff.... Soldiers Under Command had some cool riffs, but the lyrics are just too stupid for words. After that it only got worse (To Hell With The Devil makes me wanna punch somebody ;D). Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Christianity, but a band that throws bibles in the audience and has lyrics like "We are the soldiers under God's command" is something that's not for me. I'd rather have more subtle Christian bands, like Sacred Warrior (except for the awful songs He Died and Holy Holy Holy - yuck!), Barren Cross, Final Axe and Scarlet Rayne.

That said, my best wishes go out to Michael and his family. I know firsthand how terrible it is to see a loved one die of cancer.

"Conan, what is best in life?" - "Cwush youah anamies, zee zhem triffen befoh youu ent heah ze lamentations af ze women" - Conan the Barbarian (classic flick  ;D)

And something pretty funny a buddy of mine said when we were out on the town, after I inquiered how his love life was:

"You know that chick Nicole? The one that looks like a tranny? She gave me a blowjob. Or so I've heard..."

Offtopic / Re: HELP - Which guitar and equipment?
« on: March 02, 2009, 08:20:58 PM »
well, for a beginner I recommend an ibanez guitar: GRG170DX-BKN . it's about 230 EUR. amplifier I would recommend a line 6 one.

Yeah, I'd suggest that too. GRG/RG models are great. Don't like Epiphone Les Pauls a lot myself, I like SGs a lot better.
If you want to got for something really cheap and okay, get a Ibanez starter's pack. You get an okay guitar, a gig bag, a strap, a whammy bar and a nice and fuzzy sounding amp. Set me back 200 euros and I still play on it every once in a while.
