I think I would not have noticed if it was that guy on stage or Yoshiki himself. His acting is so good. :D

Umm. I visit this thread in 2019.. haha. Could someone please please upload or send me the translation? ^_^;;;

If anyone still has this, it would be great if you could put the translation here into the forum!

Today the food in our canteen tasted awful and i still feel hungry. Besides some dude from the US screwed up our mailsystem. He wanted to migrate everyone from europe to a different server, so that the whole company group is on the same server throughout europe... Didn't work that well. We cannot access our mails via mailclient anymore and have to write mails from internetbrowser now... That wouldn't be half as much of a problem if some people weren't blocked permanently from using the internet at work. Some other things also don't work... Minor things, but they piss me off.

Monday suckz!

Agreeeeed! Lameeeeeeeee!

And yes... Yoshiki doesn't seem to be planning any further releases after "the new album" anyway. Maybe the only thing that will follow is X Japans retirement.

This is also quite sad because I bet we're gonna see Yoshiki with MM sooner than we'll see anything X related...

Sorry to disappoint anyone but I can't stand MM!  >:(
That's alright! I am also unhappy to hear these things from Yoshiki... new stuff with MM (what about X?), Sarah Brightman is his new fav (what about X?)... and so on. I am NOT going to read the full interview. That was enough already.

Oooooh now with that background the song becomes more and more mystical... I just looked up what you mentionend in Wikipedia lakeisle and it says:

Cipangu was first mentioned in Europe in the accounts of Marco Polo. It appears for the first time on a European map with the Fra Mauro map in 1457, although it appears much earlier on Chinese and Korean maps such as the Gangnido. Following the accounts of Marco Polo, Cipangu was thought to be fabulously rich in silver and gold, which in Medieval times was largely correct, owing to the volcanism of the islands and the possibility to access precious ores without resorting to (unavailable) deep-mining technologies.

Cipan (日本), which is rendered in pinyin as Rìběn (IPA: ʐʅ˥˩pən˨˩˦), and literally translates to "sun origin". Guó (IPA: kuo˨˦) is Chinese for "realm" or "kingdom", so it could alternatively be rendered as Cipan-guo. The word was likely introduced to Portuguese through the Malay Jipang.

So yeah now it makes sense that the only english lyrics are about the sun and describing the country out of the eyes of a stunned traveller sounds fitting too!  :D Awesome.

"I believe in the madness called now"  - Art of Life (X Japan)
"I need your love and care" - あなた (L'Arc~en~Ciel)

and my favorite:
"みんなはいい子だよ自分は猫だよ" - ミルク (Chara)
Translation: "We are all good children. Myself I am a cat."

I couldn't find a translation of the lyrics, but I'd love to know what it is about.
Ah that reminds me that I need to look out for a translation. I am pretty curious about the lyrics as well.

Hello people! Nice to see so many liking the new song.  :)

I found some behind the scenes video: https://youtu.be/_l0nuiRsD6g
The video features Hyde being cold, Yoshiki not knowing how to blow out candles and the beautiful scenery of the music video of course!  ;D Enjoy.

According to Wikipedia (and someone on twitter also pointed this out) the song ZIPANG was written by HYDE and Nicholas Furlong.
The B-side of the single is a cover of the song Ordinary World by Duran Duran

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it!  8)

Geez, don't take this seriously, though. I visited lots of amazing places that were NOT massive freak hubs (nope, not everyone in Japan is a total perv obsessed with AKB48 and stuffed cats). I picked the weird bits for the sake of lolz.
Haha, yeah it was fun. But don't worry we are not taking everything seriously. :D

Need to work on that concert review though. It's gonna be a fun one too.
Really looking forward to that. :)

Oh interesting! Thx for the Youtube links.  :)

Maybe if one of our japanese speaking forum members is bored and has no social life, he/she could translate what they're saying in the making of this commercial.  :D

And for everyone else: Just enjoy the cuteness.

Aaaaah! ThanX for enlightening me.  :D I didn't know about foreign sand.

Q: The movie is really popular in Japan, and Queen has been presented as a band with a deep connection with the country. Some people argue that Queen became popular in Japan first, and then in Britain and the United States. Can you set the records straight for us?
It’s tricky. In Britain, we became a bit popular and in America we became a little bit popular. But then when we went to Japan, and we were suddenly up here. And then we went back to Britain and we were up there too. But Japan was the first to really love Queen and go crazy for the band. We never forget that, the first time arriving at Haneda in Tokyo, it was incredible. The whole tour was like a dream.

Q: Is that why you came up with Japanese songs as well?
I think so but we loved the culture. Freddie was crazy, he would go to Tokyo just to shop, two weeks of shopping.
Hahaha. I can understand that.  ;D

I would love to go to Tokyo and just shop there for two weeks.

Q: How many times have you been to Japan?
That’s a good question. At least ten or twelve times.
That's quite a lot.

Q: Do you go to specific places every time?
I remember we did one tour, we went everywhere. We went to places like Kanazawa and lots of cities. And sometimes we'd just go to Tokyo and Osaka. I went once and did a concert with two of my heroes, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. We did a concert by a big temple outside Osaka, that was fantastic. I think I did a song with Yoshiki.

This interview was conducted on 12 December 2018 at Roger Taylor’s personal recording studio, in England. The transcript has been edited for brevity and clarity.
I wonder what song he means. Does anyone know?

Wait a second... does this mean? He is not only bringing his piano everywhere he goes, but also his bed? ...Freak. But if I were him I would probably do exactly the same.  ;D

Haha!  ;D I laughed a lot reading about your Japan adventures. You stumbled across some funny stereotypes there. I wish sleeping in the train would be totally normal here to. People react really weird here in Germany when I fall asleep. They wake me up, because they are worried I might miss my station or they look at me very amused as I wake up! I am just sleeping. Everything is normal! Pretend you didn't see anything please.  :D

There are areas around Tokyo that are a bit more zen and less nerd-culture. It's the mix that makes Japan so freaking interesting imo.

Anyway thx for giving us a taste of all the craze. I enjoyed it very much.  ;D

General chat / Re: RIP X JAPAN
« on: January 22, 2019, 03:44:55 PM »

Is it just because people here are more obsessed with X than everywhere else?

Yes, that's most likely the case.

And you can criticize the ones you love all you want. I do know a lot of relationships that end/marriages that result in divorce from a partner's desire to pick at their spouse's wrongdoings/inability to move on from past grievances, though  ;D
Hi sorry but... why that weird comment at my husband? I can gladly affirm you that this is not something we will split up on.  ;D We both take the freedom of telling each other our honest opinion. That's what makes a relationship healthy.

Why do you have to take this to a personal level again? He was just giving an example of people you actually love, but are still allowed to be critical of. It's not a crime to point out mistakes.  :-\

I appreciate Yoshiki's effort to "make X Japan great again" but I disagree with some of his ideas on how to do so. This forum is a great platform to discuss these things and people are really passionate about X. That's why I really like it here.

Btw you should really read hatsors post. He is actually giving some great examples on how fame can be achieved outside of the US. Nothing insulting in his post IMO.  :)
