News / Re: News about X members activity

You can thank me for his latest internet freak out.

I made a comment on his most recent YouTube video, not thinking of getting any kinda reply, and weeeellll... I did.  I'm Mangasama in the comment section.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8EDRrFHW0w&lc=UgxmtyUOVgjK-at_jBh4AaABAg.9EH5ZIrUC_59EIEE697ydP

Went into damage control(it's fuckin' Yoshiki, who wouldn't??) but I didn't expect him to start Tweeting and Instagram posting about, let alone hear any kinda feedback at all. XP

This is speaking truth to power, I suppose.

I must say it's fan written articles like this that make me relive concerts.  I remember seeing X-Japan's first show in LA after scouring over videos of them at Lollapalooza and just biding my time, before the set list was well known and documented that they'd tour with, and still with each tour, no matter who knows the set list, it's as if it's forgotten each and every show they play...

It's interesting, my license plate says "X JAPAN" and so many people are like "What's that mean, do you not like Japan or something?" and I'm like "-_-  God dammit", but just at work, a new hire, goes "Is that your license plate with X-Japan?  I didn't know they had more fans than me out here!" and I was just like "Sir... Trust me..."

So, Le Psyence, loved the article, and rest assured, here in the state of AZ your northern neighbor, you've got good company. :)

Yeah, wasn't there supposed to be a Blue Blood contest(that I totes should've won XD) that was an invitation to a CD release party?  Let alone a Blue Blood fanclub??? >P

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X JAPAN's world tour plans for 2011

I'm still a bit.. Perplexed by this whole "Nurse" phenomenon.. Like, he had a hissy fit, lost his cool, and people wanted to come to his "aid" by being a nurse or something?  I don't understand.

And yeah, that video was a bit peculiar.  I suppose it's a different culture.  I imagine those who don't follow Yoshiki's tweets would be like "..wtf...??"  I can only imagine what the other band mates think while Yoshiki's on stage performing these antics.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!
« on: September 17, 2011, 06:25:44 PM »
Yeah, I suppose that's my confusion.  He's fucking STAGE DIVING.  Did he forget he plays in a metal/rock band?  There are people moshing in the audience at some shows, Toshi used to kick people off the stage when they performed back when, and the fact that he lost ONLY a choker is, like, a miracle within itself, let alone how long it's lasted considering how many times he's stage dived.

To be honest and entirely candid, I'm not a huge J-Rock fan.  I knew of Luna Sea, but if you were to ask me to name ONE song... I couldn't.  I can name only one song by Sugizo himself as a solo act because of my girlfriend but that's it.  I have no adoration to Sugizo at all, I just think- considering his past with Yoshiki, the record label, hide, and all(Juno Reactor and the ilk)- he's done a pretty rocking job with X-Japan.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X JAPAN's world tour plans for 2011
« on: September 16, 2011, 05:08:22 PM »
I suppose that's where the difference lies.  The solo is in Sugizo style, I'm not opposed to how he does it and I like that he's not trying to be hide.  I understand that the solo has notes and he hits 'em, but he makes it noticeably him.  Like in the Dragonland cover of Rusty Nail, I don't fault them at all for giving it their own obvious flare.  It's obviously an X-Japan cover, but it's blatantly Dragonland.

I got no hate for the Sug-man, I think he's had some big shoes to fill not just talent wise but legend wise.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X JAPAN's world tour plans for 2011

I suppose all we've had growing up have been the edited tour footage and CDs and we've been raised with this idea that X-Japan is infallible and amazing and wonderful, and of course they are and always will be- at least to me.  Now, however, we have them back as before and everyone has a phone with filming capabilities and we can film each and every moment and capture every slip up.

I've heard and seen footage of Pata playing X and totally, and I mean TOTALLY, fucking up the solo to the point where it was painfully obvious he was drunk out of his mind, and I've heard and seen footage of hide botching a solo and being late, but you have to dig to find those since a lot of the footage nowadays is the perfection edits.

I agree with Feudal.  I like Sugizo and I think he's a good guitarist, I've heard him play the solo perfectly and I've heard him be sloppy with it a bit.  Same with Pata, Heath, Yoshiki, and Toshi(he's missed an entry or two).  They know the songs and know them well, but to err is to human and I think we just gotta be accepting of that rather than scrutinize every second of every piece of footage we come across.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!
« on: September 14, 2011, 06:51:49 PM »
Probably just stress with it all.  I mean, look at his work load.. The "new" album (can we call it new after it's been delayed for nearly 2 years?), the world tour without relent, the press conferences, etc... It's commonplace for celebrities to lose their cool over something trivial, but who's to say this little thing wasn't the grain of sand that tipped the scale from "stressed" to "ape shit celebrity nutso"?

This is the problem with immediacy.  He had a tool to allow him to let his emotions be known to his entire fanbase immediately right at his fingertips and he used it instead of cooling down.  We've all lost our cool time and again and said things we didn't mean, but rarely on such mass scales that celebrities are able to reach.

Yoshiki just freaked out and is doing damage control in the wrong ways... -_-  If anything, he should accept the choker back, autograph it, and return it to the person and be like "I'm sorry I overreacted, enjoy this piece of X history!".

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!

Hopefully he gets it back.

Seriously, though.. It's a choker... >P  I understand it's the principle of the thing, but c'mon.  Seems like a dramatic leap to be like "I jumped in a crowd and lost my choker, TAKE MY LIFE, I DON'T CARE..."

He just spoke of needing his choker.. Did someone steal it???

Yoshiki: I want my choker back. If you are Xjapan fan please help me, I'll talk to the promoter.I need it for the rest of Latin America tour. PLEASE!

That's kinda messed up.. On the positive side, there was this amusing tweet in response: some people don't have consciousness (yeah, sleeping people. >P)

Anyways, yeah.. I can understand the desire to have a piece of X-Japan, but that's really sorta messed up.

I will always and forever adore Pata for wearing such... Couch-fabric-looking clothes... XD

Toshi / Re: Candid interview with ToshI
« on: September 10, 2011, 01:38:39 PM »
Well that is just splendid.  I was aware of the remastered editions, that's kind of why I was getting irked at the time it's been taking.  Still annoyed and it's scarcely an excuse, but yeah.

I swear, to have an X-Japan album to actually sell on these tours would be super cool... x_o

Toshi / Re: Candid interview with ToshI
« on: September 10, 2011, 01:37:34 AM »
And maybe I'm just stupid for not knowing this or assuming otherwise, but I thought the new X album was gonna be remastered versions of the old tracks not all new recordings of them, but in that article he says they were recording Kurenai...  Are these all new takes?

Way to go, Rafaelo!

It's cool to see them doing a surprise benefit show intended mostly for Jpop fans and still get a positive response. :)  Busy busy boys these guys have been.. And Toshi's voice in Forever Love sounds as powerful as ever.

Sans the unsurprising set-list, Toshi's voice sounds amaaaazing. o_o

Sounds like there were a few mixups on the guitar parts, but so is the curse of every performance being filmed by fans. =P

Ugh, I should SO be the artist for this comic.. >P  That's my version of the main villain in the comic.

20
I could upload the comic, if you'd like.  There'd be some glare from the camera flash, but it should be good.

21
The has potential to not be terrible, sort of typical comic fare, but the artwork leaves a lot to be desired.. -_o

22

My friend brought me this back... Signed by Yoshiki, well.. Scribbled on by Yoshiki. =P

The tag is still in so the music hasn't been played yet... But... I dunno if I wanna pull it...

Covers / Re: X Replica (Finnish X JAPAN tribute band)
« on: July 23, 2011, 06:41:10 AM »
As a vocalist, lemme tell ya, Toshi's voice is HARD to emulate.

The hardest song, interestingly enough, is Rusty Nail.  The verses are fine, but the chorus is suuuuch a pain in the ass.  I.V. is relatively easy, Jade has some high notes that are not so easy all the time.  Older Toshi singing tends to be easier because the vocals are a bit more rough, more metal if you will, so it's easier to get by with "Cheating" with more aggressive vocals since it constricts the vocal chords a bit more.

Long story short, Toshi is in a league of his own for the most part. =P

My buddy's in the room right now where the panel is gonna be held, it's apparently getting pretty full and he says that everyone he's talked to is there for the Blood Red Dragon panel.

Truly, this is delightful... =P

26
The more I think about my inability to go to this panel, the more depressed I get. XP

It's like... I was raised on Marvel Comics so Stan "The Man" Lee is a huge part of my childhood, I got into comics seriously with Spawn and I've met Todd McFarlane a few times, and Yoshiki is invariably a huge part of my life musically and emotionally, and it's like... These 3 people are a powerhouse to me, and to have them all in one room at the same time, it's just bringing me down a bit more than I thought it would. =P

Alas.  My friend's going, hopefully he'll be able to give 'em that drawing with a note I left at the bottom... Yeah.  Here's to hoping.

27

Here's a pic I drew of the Blood Red Dragon. Crappy phone cam pic. >P

but yeah.. Hope my buddy's able to give it to Yoshiki or Todd or somethin'.  Already got fans!

Important / Re: It seems that Taiji passed away...........
« on: July 18, 2011, 04:33:51 AM »
I have my glass filled with memories of my first days of knowing X.  The prowess of every member mind staggering...

I drink my drink tonight to you, Taiji.  Though you never knew my name and probably had no idea how vast your reach was, rest well in knowing that you will not be remembered for a single foolish decision- although it was your last.  I drink to your talent, to your mistakes, to your triumphs, to knowing that you helped contribute to one of the world's greatest bands with one of the world's greatest talents.

Rock on, desperate angel.

A true, epic bummer...

I may have a drink in his honor and listen to classic X all day.

I know a simple post on a small forum such as this is nothing to vast greatness that was this man's contribution to the Japanese music scene, but yeah..  May his peace be found.  His life has been a crash course of rock and roll life style, the immense highs and the intense lows.

Now, hide has a jam partner again.  -=raises glass=-

Man, what shitty news to wake up to...

Voiceless Screaming
Calling to me inside of my heart
Knockin' on my soul's door
I believe in myself and trust what I do

Voiceless Screaming
Pain of the past still hurts me inside
Knockin' on my soul's door
I climb the stairs that lead me to Heaven...

R.i.P., bass deity.
