@AsukaMiyu : I'm not on Facebook so I can't add myself on the list, but me and my friend will probably come ! (if we can find you guys xD)

you will, for sure, I think AsukaMiyu is carrying a flag and than we can spot her,
and about the c-halle, the better place is near the sound mixing area, for listening and so on ( was just reading your report about the concert in Paris)
so nice to meet you in Berlin

Oh, if there's a flag the spotting will be easy then ! :D
Thanks a lot for all of your advice ~ and see you in Berlin ! :)

Thanks, as a French gentleman I salute you, you cunt.

As a French lady, I will not salute you back. Funny how you're the first person who went to the concert to tell me the sound wasn't horrible, too.

Also, regarding the sound - it's never a particularly easy thing to sort out, given that the sound is mixed at the sound desk, which is usually at the back of the audience in an optimum position from the speakers as to get the best possible sound. The engineer at the desk will mix depending on what he hears at the desk, which means that everyone else in the concert hall will get a less than optimum sound given that your personal sound experience is entirely reletive to where you are staning in relation to the speakers.

So basically, if you goto a gig in a fairly small and enclosed venue - you're best going to the back of the audience or into seated if you want to hear the clearest sound.

I agree with you, it's the impression I had : in parts of of the hall you could hear clearly enough, and in others you couldn't hear anything. However, it's the first time I've been at a concert where this "effect" was that bad.

Hi guys, here's how my experience of the Paris concert went...  ;)

My friend and I arrived around 6AM, there were already 50+ people there who had camped outside. So we sit in one of the lines and started waiting. There were two English girls in front of us, a goup of Spanish people, and some French people I think. The morning was quite nice, everyone was chilling and we were all so happy to be there. Things started getting more ectic in the afternoon. Around midday we could already see groups of peolple gathering around the barriers wich formed our line. At 2PM people started moving, in the other queues people just sat clother to each other to make room for the people arriving. In our queue, the groups which where outside our line jumped across the barriers, shoved the spanish people outside of the line and took their place. The French girls who had organized the camping tried to get them back in the line, and these people just started to scream at them and insult them. At this point, we all had to stand because we were around 40 between barriers which were meant to hold 20 people. So basically, all of the foreigners who were there before us got pushed out the line (or went away of their own because of what was happening), and we only had loud drunk French people in front of us. Needless to say we didn't really enjoy the next 5 hours.

When we got inside of the hall, we managed to find a spot not too far away from the stage, in the center. Then there was 1 hour and a half of waiting, and I could hear people saying they would get things to be "violent" when the concert started (French, again). My friend and I are both girls, and we were surrounded by guys. So I told her we should try to get at either end of the hall if things got out of hand, because that's were things are calmer in most concerts. Then the concert started. As soon as the band got on stage, the pushing started and the guys around us started elbowing everyone. I'm very short (everyone around me was at least 15 cm taller), so from the second song on I had my face in someone elese's body and couldn't  move a finger. Since both my mouth and nose were covered, I couldn't breathe anymore. Luckily, Silent Jealousy piano intro started, and people stopped moving for some seconds. So I managed to turn around and get away from the stage. I spent the rest of the concert in the back, were people were much more nicer. The irony was that since I was further away I could see the whole stage, while when I was in the front I couldn't see anything.

Now, about the band... Well, they were absolutely awesome. But everyone probably know that already haha. I won't be able to comment on the music though (or on Toshi's voice or anything else for this matter), because the sound sucked. Like really. I don't know what the technicians did, but I would never had guessed that someone who's supposed to have a diploma could fuck up a set of microphones so much. Basically, the drums were too loud,  we couldn't hear the guitars, and we could only hear Toshi's voice when there was no music playing (or when he was screaming very loud). But the sound was a bit better in the back than in the front, so I'm guessing the people in the stands had a better experience.

I think that's it, the hall was almost full (I think there were maybe a hundred empty seats in the stands, that means an audience of 6200 instead of 6300), and except for the people who were in the front I think everyone enjoyed the concert a lot. Oh, and Yoshiki did seem thinner than I remembered him to be (you could see his ribs all of the time).

So, in a nutshell : the band was awesome, the sound sucked, and I hate French people.

Sounds interesting! :)
For the people wondering if this is official merchandising, I think it could be one of those books written by a reporter / group of reporters... in this case, as long as the publisher pays the right to reproduce images, they can write anything they want!
Maybe the people who purchased the book could check if any writer is credited?

It doesn't mean anything, that's a mistake in the news on TokyoHive :P
Ah okay I got it now! I took a closer look at the source and apparently instead of giving the names of the individuals who will take part on the show Tokyohive just copied the names of the "related artists" list... and of course X Japan was related.

Erm... I don't think it's true that X JAPAN appear there at all. Tokyo Hive gave Natali as their source, but it doesn't say anything about X there. Also on the website X isn't mentioned.....

Then what do they mean by "Artists in the musical include X JAPAN, J, BON-BON BLANCO, the Underneath, and Takahashi Hitomi"?
I'm confused now.

The musical has been confirmed : http://www.tokyohive.com/2011/01/hide-musical-pink-spider-in-the-works/
And apparently X will play too. Well, I only hope that this event won't delay their European tour...

I'm not sure I'm going to make a lot of sense but I'd like to add this to the discussion : I think the word suicide can be interpreted in many different ways. If hide drank to the point of actually dying, wether it be a conscious act or not, why not call it suicide? After all, no one forced him to drink, he did it himself, knowing that alcohol can cause death. So even though I believe it was an accident, I can understand why it was labelled 'suicide'.

As for this doctor... well, doctors can be really talkative when they want to be. Even if I usually don't buy half ot it, it wouldn't be the first time I hear rumors concerning celebrities coming from doctors.

In the interview they say that they're sorry that they disappointed "a little" French fans because of cancelling 3 times the concert...well I think cancelling 3 times is not "a little" disappointment  :-\ but a big one  :-[

Well, hopefully they will do a 2011 concert and the album will be out as soon as they say it will be.

There's another report on the conference here : http://www.ongaku-dojo.fr/2010/07/conference-de-presse-x-japan/ and the translation is a little bit different... don't know which one is the more accurate, but it's interesting to read both translations!

EDIT: looks like no one noticed yet, but JaME reports that when asked what he enjoys to do aside music, Yoshiki replied: "Nothing, I don't have any free time. That's why I broke up with my girlfirend." I guess fangirls will like this line, haha.

General chat / Re: X Japan new song - Born to be Free
« on: July 04, 2010, 10:34:23 PM »
According to @ongakudojo's twitter in a press conference they said the new album will be released this autumn and the paris live will be in 2011.

I sent an email to the webmaster of Ongaku Dojo, and they said they would soon post a report about the press conference! They confirmed that no precise date had been announced, but that the concert would take place in 2011. This explains why Toshi & Yoshiki didn't say anything during the showcase... if it does take place in 2011, maybe they will do it during Japan Expo... the bets are open again!! xD

Now I can't wait to read the full report... I'm so relieved they won't do it this autumn, it means I can travel freely during this period without having to worry about missing the live  :D

EDIT: the full report is here : http://www.ongaku-dojo.fr/2010/07/conference-de-presse-x-japan/

They did say that the album was due for this autumn. When asked if the World Tour would happen in 2011 in Europe, they said yes, when asked if they would do a live in France, they said yes.

However, JaME reports that they said "hopefully, yes". Don't really know if that makes a difference, but it probably means that they won't come to Europe in 2010, but hope to come in 2011 ?

(and I just noticed we're in the 'Born to be free' thread... I'm totally off-topic, haha)

And according to someone on the xwonderland forums they played rose of pain acoustic.

How good of X to realise that the fans only see the acoustic version as a teaser for the real thing that we actually want to see at the concerts, right? >_>'
Yes, they did play Rose of Pain (well... not the whole song, but a good part of it), and yes, it was frustrating xD when Toshi sang "scream without raising your voice", I wished so much Pata would come out with his guitar.... T__T

And I'm also amazed by the fans. they are so quiet! and even if they shout, it's not in that annoying fangirly way but just... happy to finally see them after all this waiting. I can't put it in word well.... but it's so touching, I can't stop watching. >_<;;;;;

Yeah, I noticed too that there weren't many "fangirls screams"... Maybe it's because here people are more used to applaud than to scream, even in rock concerts...? I don't know, haha.

I hope you'll get to see them too!! X in such a big stadium must be something awesome! ^_^

I just got back from Japan Expo... and it was quite awesome !  ;D

Unfortunately, there was no news for any upcoming concert... well they barely talked at all actually. xD
But we got to enjoy a bunch of songs, and that alone was definitely worth it!

Setlist:
1 - Video footage (from past world tour concerts, a bit of rusty nail new PV, and lots of fans from the Hollywood shooting talking about X)
2 - Forever Love
3 - Rose of Pain (accoustic)
4 - IV
5 - Endless Rain (when Toshi started singing the chorus, I was like, WTF, they added new english lyrics to Endless Rain ?!! it took me a few minutes to realize he was actually... singing in FRENCH. xD so the new chorus is : "Pluie sans fin, tombe sur mon cœur, Cicatrices de mon cœur, laisse moi oublier, toute la haine, toute la tristesse"... well, actually "toute la TWISTESSE" xD Toshi's french (flench ?) definitely cracked me up)
6 - Born to be Free (audio only, even though I wished they had played it live, this song rocks!!)

I'm really glad I went to see them today, even though I'm a little bit disappointed they didn't say anything about the french concert... and I've got to say, Toshi's voice is definitely getting better! No cracks, and he managed to hold some notes for a veeeeery long time, like in the old days. xD

Anyway, I don't have any photos/videos, but lots of people had their cameras with them, so we'll probably get to see those very soon!  :)

But there's only one week between Lolla and mid-August... o_O I don't ever wanna be a part of their planning staff, haha xD
And, if this is a revival of their activities, can we hope for a european tour in autumn? *_*

I'm so glad to know it's official ~ but now I need to make up my mind for those damn plane tickets... I wish they would tell us now if they plan to do the LA & NY lives in august too! >_<

OMG:

http://blogs.suntimes.com/derogatis/2010/04/now_its_really_official_lollap.html

Read that..

At their beginings people called Kiss stupid too, so I guess VK can look funny if you've never seen that kind of bands before... but I never agree with musical critics anyway, haha. xD

General chat / Re: X Japan in Hollywood on January 9th
« on: April 01, 2010, 11:09:04 PM »
It's not in order, Lollapalooza has two main stages and two smaller stages near the main ones (only one band playing per a pair of stages (main+secondary), so there won't be any clashes between the bands). The list more-or-less reflects how big/famous the bands are and you can guess from the bands postition when he's going to play, but there is no way to be sure before ~ June, when the official schedule is released.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that ^^

Festival tickets are always very expensive, and that's why I rarely attend these kind of events... But if you see, let's say, 10 concerts in 3 days, and the 3-day ticket is 200 USD, then you only pay 20 dollars per concert, which isn't that expensive. Anyway, let's hope that the NY & LA tickets will be cheaper!  :)

Naah, it's 'Y Spain' :D
You know... I wondered for a split second if I had ever heard of a band called 'Y Spain'. xD
And now I can't help thinking that sometimes the name 'X Japan' can really sound stupid.   :P

Toshi / Re: Toshi back in the studio with Masaya?

o_O
This is a joke, right...?
Now I really DON'T get what's happening... is this something made up by the Japanese media again? (or has there been by any chance a trustworthy website reporting it too?)
If it's true... WTF. This is going too crazy for me.

General chat / Re: X Japan in Hollywood on January 9th

It MUST be X!  :D I mean, which other band's name could fit, really? xDDD (or maybe I want it to be X... >_>)
I wish they would just announce it already... I hate having to wait!  :-\

27
Looking at the music industry as a whole, it seems to me like most of the big music production companies have legal issues with at least one of their bands... with that said, if Nexstar offered X a better deal than the other companies, I can understand why they chose this one regardless of the issue with Glay.

I just hope that they will come to an agreement and that it won't keep the band from playing wherever they want to play... don't want them to miss the Lollapalooza opportunity.  :-\

Albums/Singles / Re: Confused about ''say anything''
« on: March 14, 2010, 12:11:58 PM »
Or else, it could be...

If you close your eyes => if you look away from me (jealousy) / if you die on me (reference to his father?)
I'll kill you => I won't forgive you / I'll kill myself (as murder can be seen as a transference of a suicidal tendancy)
In the rain => in a place which symbolizes how sad and depressed I feel / in a place which symbolizes renewal, forgiveness (the past is washed away)

(we should start a topic ''analyse Yoshiki's sanity through his songs' lyrics''  xD)

Junk Story contains the single Junk Story and In Motion (+ a comment read by hide's brother) wich doesn't appear on any of hide's full length album.
As for We Love hide, I don't think it contains any unreleased track, it's just a best of.

The comment was read by hide himself AFAIK, it's taken from a radio show actually...

Yeah, you're right I think I'm confusing it with another track... but hide's brother is featured in one of hide's song, right? can't remember which one it is if it's not in the comment... or maybe I'm making things up now xD
