X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X JAPAN's world tour plans for 2011
« on: June 25, 2011, 08:41:13 PM »
As I dont know what other place to put this, and it doesnt warrant its own post as its only small, you know what really fucks me off?

Yoshiki posted up on his facebook/twitter about the setlist already being done but was open to suggestions.. yet some of the facebook comments I saw where "please play jade!! please play I.V.!!" WHAT THE FUCK?!

Those songs, and most of the new songs they've done, are guaranteed. Thats almost as stupid as saying "please play X!!". Rant over :D

Noise, I got info from Seetickets about the collection when I asked, and they said the tickets can be collected from 19.00 hrs on the date of the concert. Which is weird, cause that is the time the doors open for X... :o

I cant say for sure, but when I went to the new york show, I had to choose box office collection as international shipping was not an option. The order confirmation did say collect at the doors at 7pm (which is when the doors opened) however when we arrived there (around 2pm), they had the front door open for box office collection so you can go in and get your tickets but had to get out once you had them. It may be the case at this concert but I dont know for sure. If not, the best thing to do is if you are with a friend, get them to hold your place in the line while you collect the tickets. Its not queue jumping if you were already waiting :)

ugh, tell me about it. It wasnt too bad in NY, apparently my manly roars must have scared them away. There were quite a lot of fangirls at miyavi last month though.

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X Japan World Tour @ Zenith, Paris - July 1st
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:20:38 AM »
havent booked it yet because i have no money but we're staying in a novotel hotel about half way between the zenith and the CDG airport. only £90 for the night but thats between the 3 of us so its not too bad :D

7
if tickets are still on sale in a months time and I win some money on the lottery then i'll be going. Prices i'm looking at are around the same price as paris in terms of flights.. plus my long lost lover mark said he'd pick me up from the airport on his way to the gig... chances are i wont be able to go though, even though i'd love to.

8
I bet pretty much all of those fans were girls. It was when I went to NY. All fangirls. I was going to queue around midday but ended up going to comic con again until 3pm, walked to the gig and got some food, started queueing at around 4pm, when we did get in we went straight to the merch stall.. and we STILL got a great view. I didnt want to be too close to the front, you cant move at all and you get pushed around too much. I prefer to stay back a bit so i've got a great view but still got breathing room :D

Same here! :D Our email didn't like the tickets, we worried for a while as a confirmation arrived but the email containing the actual tickets were nowhere to be seen. We found them. They were in the trash box. :'D

same here, however I downloaded my ticket as there was a download link for the pdf on the site after buying the tickets. Just spotted them in my spam folder though :P

I'm surprised there are still tickets left, the Islington gig was sold out pretty much instantly. I personally would've preffered Islington as i've been there for a few Jrock gigs and their security really knows what they're doing, I emailed Shepherds bush with a queuing question and it seems like they're underestimating the fans *gulp*.

Do you mean how O2 Islington said no queueing until a few hours before the show because they know how crazy some fans are? Haha. I read that and it made me laugh, when I went to see them in new york there were people camping outside the gig THREE DAYS BEFORE IT STARTED! Crazy!

i'd totally be up for possibly being arrested for chanting WE ARE X on a train for 4 hours, however i'm in the same boat as Matthias. I'm heading straight home after London as i'm in work on wednesday and thursday then taking a flight straight from work on thursday to france. We'll have to meet you guys in france :)

got my tickets, standing of course :D dont really understand why standing is cheaper than seated. I would assume more people would want to stand and they'd cost more?? oh well, not complaining!!

ForeverFades: They done an english version of Rusty Nail on the tour so I assumed they would be promoting the english version. I wasnt sure what they done at the shoot but it would have been nice if they actually performed Rusty Nail live at the shoot and used that audio instead of using audio i've heard hundreds of times already. And while they didnt record born to be free at that LA shoot, they did at the yoshiki foundation party thing at the nokia studio, they could have included that on there surely? That was recorded back in july.. its now november.. the dvd came out at the beginning of this month.

but yeah, the annoying thing is the rough edits and shit they used. If I win the lottery, i'll go for it.. but i'm not paying full price for it given the random mix of shit on there. Plus my DVDR naughty copy is 93.4% on torrent :P

Its not bad.. but it sucks that they are charging so much money for such an average compilation of crap. The dvd is around $100 I think which is a disgusting price for what you are getting. They've only got the rough edit of JADE (midi drums instead of real drums), Rusty Nail is the last live version and no born to be free?! Come on guys! Its a NEW DVD. Give us some new content at least! Or lower the price to like.. $30

Albums/Singles / Re: How would you like your World Tour DVDs?
« on: November 02, 2010, 01:47:53 PM »
huge boxset please and yes, blu-ray AND dvd. Not just DVD. I have a HD TV and a PS3. I've got one of the Yokohama concerts from august on blu ray (bootleg of course) and the quality is FANTASTIC.

Thanks for the comments folks, the family is all better now. Now I need to get this debt paid off that I just put myself in to see X. I need my debts cleared in time for the EU tour next year (if they hopefully do one!). Anyone want to buy any movies from me? :P

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: Europe Tour: Hope/Wishes etc...
« on: October 22, 2010, 06:21:00 PM »
Yeah, breaks are fine if you have some filler. Silent breaks are annoying and a waste of time. If Yoshiki needs a break, let the others do a couple of acoustic songs or some solo stuff.. then Yoshiki can come back and do a piano solo while they have a rest.. alternate it so they can all take a break. I dont know if the others will need it or not but you get my point. Standing there staring at an empty stage for 30 minutes is not fun.

I cant say anything that hasnt already been said.

Best concert I've ever been to. Period. The crowd werent perfect. The pushing was BS. I was about 15 rows back so I had a bit of breathing room. I have to admit, I did have tears in my eyes (tears of joy) during the intro when I saw Yoshiki standing on the drum kit and the band coming out. Sai, I was one of the british guys you spoke to when you were seeing how big the line was. I dont know how good your memory is, I was the white guy, my friend was the taller guy with a british flag wrapped around him.

I've wanted to post up a blog about my entire trip and the X concert but I came back home to a sick girlfriend, sick child and a lot of shit to sort out. I've been back a week and I've literally only just taken my clothes out of the suitcase to wash them. Its been a shit week with sickness and work.. will try and post up a full blog sometime soon. Here's the X highlights (as most probably dont care about what else I did).

Friday, 11.30am. Walked to the ballroom to scope out the area, see where the local food/drink/toilet places where and stuff. Met up with a couple of people I chat to online, they were awesome. Sat around with them for 30 mins before heading off to comic-con.
Saturday: comic con all day :D
sunday: comic con until around 1pm then went to get food and walk up to the ballroom. Weirdly, we walked a block too far and ended up walking past all the tour buses and accidentally found the back of the line :D we went to the front box office to collect our tickets then made our way to the back. There was only about 150-200 people in front of us (I think). We were right next to the truck that was recording the show. Stood around talking and waiting. A girl I was speaking to on facebook who flew from Japan saw me when they arrived (around 5pm) and the queue was huge.. so I let her jump the queue in front of me because i'm nice (or I'm an asshole, depending on where in the queue you were! :D). We waited.. and waited.. then we heard them rehearsing.. that was awesome.. and people kept walking in and out of the media truck so we kept seeing them on the screens.. that got us pumped.. then we waited.. then we got free pizza from Yoshiki :D then a bit more waiting and we started moving. We got in, I spent $300 on merchandise straight away as I didnt want to try after the gig to find out they sold out, then we moved into the main area. Support band started, they were shit. waste of space and time.

Then came what felt like the longest 30-45 mins of my life. The wait between the support band getting their shit off stage and X coming on. It was mind blowing. You all know the setlist, you all know the birthday wishes. I wont bother with any of that. However, I must apologie to the Japanese couple who were standing next to me. They probably wont read this, but I'm sorry. They'd clearly never met a 6 foot tall white guy from britain who LOVES X JAPAN. When I started screaming and jumping up and down, they looked horrified! I didnt hit them or bump into them, I think they were just shocked at how excited I was LOL. So I apologise for scaring you. I'm a nice guy, I just got a bit hyper, thats all :D

When Yoshiki gave his speech about knowing Toshi since they were kids.. and going through all the shit they've been through and wanting to be here.. there were more tears in my eyes. It was emotional. You could feel his emotions in his voice.. especially when he said "WE ARE GOING TO KEEP GOING. WE WILL KEEP FUCKING GOING!!!! WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE!!!!!!!!!". I went a bit crazy during X and Art Of Life.. but thats all part of the fun. Then came the inevitable. The concert ended. It was amazing, but also sad. I've been waiting for this moment for about 9 years.. and I didnt want it to end. But I guess it had to at some point! We let everyone else pour out the roseland before we moved as we knew it would be crowded. On the way out, I saw a Japanese girl crying hysterically like someone had just died. It was emotional, but Japanese girls are a bit dramatic! We then proceeded to walk back to the hotel.. which was 14 blocks down and 5 blocks across.. after standing all day and walking all day.. that was silly. We got back to the hotel and pretty much passed out when we hit the beds. Slept for 12 hours and could barely walk when I woke up.. but you know what? I'd do it again in a fucking heartbeat. And it was worth every penny.. even if I am paying this trip off for the next 5 months! :D

edit: and they arent the best pics but here are the pics me and my mate took: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=565654&l=584a71ccd4&id=589370633

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: Europe Tour: Hope/Wishes etc...
« on: October 22, 2010, 12:01:41 PM »
I just have a couple of comments:

"I prefer more pauzes in the concert if that results in longer setlist."
No thanks. I'd rather watch 2 hours of X JAPAN performing rather than 1 hour performing, 1 hour standing around bored, 1 hour performing, 1 hour standing around bored. I think they need less breaks and more music. Every band I've ever seen do a full setlist with no breaks. I understand they may need SOME but after watching the yokohama concerts, i'd rather not stand around for 35-40 minutes in silence waiting.

And my hopes/wishes.. I just want them to play in europe. Anywhere in europe. I dont care where. And a setlist that is longer than their US tour. Thats all. I'd prefer them to play in London as thats the cheapest place for me to get to but i'll happily fly anywhere in Europe to see them again.

Hey everyone!

I will be driving with my friend (who won't be going to the concert but is nice enough to help me) to NYC from all the way in Ohio about 10 hours away. We will arrive sometime Saturday and I really want to see if I can camp outside the venue. I would be alone so I am nervous doing it.  I am also wondering, because I am dressing up how that would work out. I would have to find someway to do my hair and makeup.

Also, if I could hook up with anyone camping that would be great!

I love X JAPAN but I also love sleeping in a bed so I wont be camping out. I will however, be getting there very early on sunday morning (around 9am) so I cant help sorry!

29
I'm not trying to get to the front but if I happen to.. and someone pulled a knife? I'm not a violent person by any means.. but I'd make sure that person doesnt try that shit again with anyone. Thats fucking disgusting.
