Is there any info on the UK release (dvd)? Does it include the extra interviews?

You can do whatever you want. I'll vote, because if they win, it's good publicity for X Japan. I don't owe them shit, and they sure as fuck don't owe me shit, but it's just a nice thing to do. After all they're still one of my favorite bands.

The documentary, a mini-concert, Q&A, and a meet-and-greet....? I would have had a panic attack from all the excitement. :D Sounds like an awesome experience! I'm so happy for you!  :)

I have Instagram but I'm not in New York.  ;D

It's definitely not going to come out this year, unless they pull some kind of "Avenged Sevenfold" and release it without a warning ... but that seems unlikely. I hope they release it soon, because now that the documentary is out, people are getting more interested in them. If they don't, the western media (mostly American music magazines/websites) and potential new fans might forget about it and move on to other things.

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki and HYDE

I like it. I listen to both L'Arc en Ciel and Vamps. I hope they keep doing these collaborations, because Hyde has an amazing voice. I don't know what happened at VJS though.. he usually sounds way better. Maybe he was nervous, or his voice wasn't in the best condition.

It was on Youtube for like 3 hours and then it got deleted. I guess I should have posted the link, but I didn't think of it... Next time I find something, I'll post the link even if it gets deleted the same day.  :)

General chat / Re: We are X, my 2 cents
« on: October 26, 2016, 03:04:14 PM »
I get what you guys are saying, but hear me out for a second.

I can only compare these kind of things to my love of Star Wars that started when I was about 9 years old. I didn't have any friends back then, so I ended up watching the films all the time, and they made me feel like I wasn't alone. They saved me from being a lonely, depressed kid. Now, as an adult, when I watched the new films, I absolutely LOVED them, but they weren't the same thing. And you know why? Because it had already happened. Those old movies had already saved me.

That's how I see things with X Japan (and pretty much the rest of this fucking universe too...). The documentary is fantastic, but their music has already given me so much, that I can't expect a documentary or even a new album to give me more than that. I'm probably going to love the hell out of everything they'll ever do, but music has already saved me. It'll continue to do so, but the magic is not going to be in this one thing that they release. To me, it's in everything.

I'm just glad that they can reach more people that might feel the way I do about their music (or just music in general).  8)

Yeah it's good to see him in such great shape, he seems to have recovered well.  :)

Some of the interviews are back online, by the way. I don't know how long they'll stay there.

That was about a week ago and he seems to be fine now  :)
Oh and there were several interviews (including one with Pata and Toshl) but those also got deleted. You can find clips of them on Instagram and Twitter.

Looks like there is still one video of VJS on Youtube, most of them got deleted fast (not surprised, but sucks for international/new fans). Low quality but worth it. Quite emotional.

(this one used to be in 3 parts but 2 & 3 got removed, so no La Venus in this one)

I think I also remember him saying in an interview that he admires another Japanese artist who always wears (or wore?) sunglasses... but I'm not sure, and I honestly don't know if I understood it correctly.

(I think it's also available on a relatively unknown social media website, but it's shit quality, I have a migraine, and I want the full experience, dammit...) :P

I had saved a few newer (new-ish?) pictures, but I lost them with my old computer. They exist somewhere online, but I don't think he wants to be seen without his sunglasses..?

Here, have a super happy picture of Toshl from Visual Japan Summit instead  ;)
(at least I think it's from VJS)

Jade is currently one of my favorite songs because it's in English but it has a couple of lines in Japanese. I really hope they've kept some Japanese in the new songs. Neither one is my native language, but I think Japanese sounds more beautiful.

On the other hand, I'm not fluent enough to fully understand most Japanese lyrics without a translation. And if you're new to X, and not familiar with Japanese at all, you're probably more likely to buy an album that is in English.

Taiji / Re: Why Taiji was fired by Yoshiki
« on: October 18, 2016, 06:35:15 PM »
Most bands that I know of have only a couple of rules that, if you break them, will get you fired. They're usually something like

1. don't fuck your band mate's girlfriend/boyfriend,
2. Don't bring illegal substances to the band (ie. don't deal drugs while you're in the band)

Also, several combinations of the above might get you fired... (don't do drugs with your band mate's girlfriend while you're supposed to be working). I've witnessed a couple of these scenarios and the results can be nasty.

Or it could be something totally different, like talking behind someone's back about something very important. Who knows. They clearly don't want to talk about it, and I'm okay with that, especially since Taiji is gone, and we'll never get to hear his side of the story.

hide / Re: Hide: 50th Anniversary: Junk Story Documentary
« on: July 16, 2016, 07:36:04 PM »
I've seen it. I don't really speak Japanese, but I know some common phrases (and song lyrics ::) ). It's VERY difficult to understand what people are saying in the interviews, I only got the general idea of what they were talking about. I'm really glad that I watched it, but it's not something that I'd recommend, if you don't speak any Japanese. It would be much more enjoyable if it was subtitled in English.

Not anywhere near me, I bet.  ;D  I should probably start saving money, in case they come to Europe.

I'm just not very excited about traveling, considering the things that happened recently in Europe, but maybe things will calm down soon. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I don't feel safe around airports and other crowded places at the moment.

The Last Live / I finally got The Last Live dvd!
« on: March 24, 2016, 06:55:19 PM »
First I'd like to apologize for starting a useless thread about this, but it's my way of celebrating the fact that I FINALLY got The Last Live on dvd! I don't have to look for videos of it on Youtube anymore. I ordered it online, it's new and works perfectly on my computer, even though it's an import with the "wrong" region code (I think).

X Japan is slowly becoming more than "just a band" to me. Help me.... There is no going back, is there? :P  ;D

I'm a relatively new fan, but I'm not surprised either. I was a fan of Guns n' Roses for almost two decades... I still am, kind of. I waited for their (Axl's) new album for so many years. The word "soon" got a whole new meaning. I'm used to everything by now.  ;)

I'm just glad that they're still making music.  :)
