General chat / Re: I.V. hide guitar track
« on: December 13, 2016, 06:05:03 PM »
Hmm true but they already had good connections with Sugizo and if they only had a riff, it's not that they could ask hide to finish the song.. It's still assumption that Sugizo wrote the solo but I think it's very likely also because of resemblance with stuff in Jade.

It's likely that the main riff is from hide. This quite simple single string riff fits hide's style with spread beaver and Zilch. The "noise" is more a trademark of Sugizo in which he uses a whammy bar. Hide's signature guitars don't feature whammy bars (although he did use a whammy pedal).

Hope she did in the last 3 years :P

It's sometimes quite difficult to order guitars from Japan due to import taxes and high shipping rates (I once bought a mg-80x from Japan). I think you should use it to your benefit and sell it outside of Japan. Perhaps but it on Ebay with a reserve. Personally, I like the mg-280x but they are more rare and really expensive :o Those colors and hearts on your guitar require a more specific taste haha

I guess Fernandes still manufactures the mg-360s since they are still listed on their website:

Hard to tell. Depends on where you sell it and if you can find an interested buyer. It's not the most popular guitar outside of Japan and you just need to find someone that really wants it and is willing to pay for it (i think there are quite some fans that would want it but don't have the money for it since it's a guitar in a higher price range). It is a nice guitar though, having neck through construction, and i think you can get a good price for it if you have patience. Just sell it on internet with lots of pictures of it.

Hi guys,

Been a while since I last visited this forum but I made a cover of Love Replica which I'd like to share! I combined four tracks using only a acoustic guitar and it sounds quite funny this way...so hope you will enjoy :)

*sigh* sorry this is getting quite confusing hehe

because I've realized its pretty obvious that Sugizo's been busy with Luna Sea, and that's why the band can't do live shows and Yoshiki is probably taking extra time with the album because he'd rather release it when they're able to do live tours to support it.

Now let's talk about the fantastic new album X Japan will be releasing...

Ow sorry, Sugizo was causing the delays then :P

but nvm, pointless discussion anyway. Not very recent topics.

This guy even created a topic a long time ago about how better would be if Yoshiki fired Sugizo and put Panther in his place.

With "this guy" you're referring to me so I I'll discard the first topic you sent. In the second topic I never mentioned anything about firing Sugizo. I even said Sugizo is a good guitarist for the kind of music they make now. I did say that I think his guitar playing & sound is a bit crappy and Panther is technically much better but that's pretty hard to deny. The topic wasn't really meant as an attack on Sugizo but more like..multiple guitarists would originally play hide's guitar parts, weren't there any other (perhaps better) options besides Sugizo? In the third topic Ulquiorra is blaming Sugizo for delays and I'm actually defending Sugizo saying that it's probably not the case but perhaps in the near future it might be..

What is clear is that you're exaggerating a lot telling he's getting blamed for everything -.-'

I was kinda surprised where that long post came from but I read the topic on X Boards and these guys are pretty arrogant. Some think they are better fans by being a fan for a long period of time and buying original material. I think everyone has a right for their opinion and people including the band and members of X Boards shouldn't be offended so easily. The reason why some get annoyed for the lack of activity of the band is because they really like the band and want it to change.

Or this guy "Joker" saying:

I don't take anything serious on XFF. Sometimes I enter and there is always a topic infested by hidetards or a guy who blames Sugizo for everything bad that happens with the band. This guy even created a topic a long time ago about how better would be if Yoshiki fired Sugizo and put Panther in his place. So I give up, I don't even try to discuss anything there.

Well, I cant take him seriously. Blaming Sugizo for everything, firing Sugizo...I wonder where he read that. Personally I've been a fan for a long time and probably have better collector items then most members on X Boards. I do have to agree with some of them that perhaps if you're more into the "old" X Japan their pace of doing things is not so surprising. Still I think its good to at least have an opinion in contrary to some fangirls and boys that cant say a negative thing about Yoshiki (or Sugizo). A forum is about discussing things and sometimes you also need to provoke a little I guess.

@DopeHead someone with taste

Yoshiki / Re: Yoshiki officially on twitter!

This reminds me of something I posted once hehe

This caused me to fantasize about X Japan with Panther….less ballads…..more rock songs…probably a second art of life instead of born to be free but only better…etc

It will probably be more like a second Luna Sea - The ONE instead of a second Art of Life if Yoshiki really decides to write something. For a second Art of Life with Panther I can wait a couple years and won't care anymore about the album :D

An uptempo song would be nice though. All X Japan albums have ballads combined with faster songs (although Dahlia was mosty thanks to hide). I think many fans would like it.

I will never understand people who wants to blame Sugizo for all band's problems.

Ow I atleast don't do that. Yoshiki has the biggest role in X Japan and he's too busy with other projects like Violet UK etc. I understand Sugizo and I also don't think Yoshiki would hire a different guitarist but he's not the only one to decide. Perhaps Sugizo won't have any time when X Japan is planning something and decides for himself. (Damn speculations..X needs to take some action hehe)

I don't follow Sugizo on facebook but denx posted an interview of him a few weeks ago and yes, Sugizo says he's waiting for a decision from Yoshiki but more like he won't have any time for X Japan if Yoshiki doesn't take action soon.. So perhaps Sugizo hasn't got anything to do with this pause but if X Japan is planning some future activity, it looks like Sugizo will have some influence on that (unless they hire a new guitarist ;) ).

Of course, you will also take part in many projects as a solo artist in the future. Can you give us a quick overview of your future plans?

This month I’m going to be active as a solo artist; I’m going to devote my entire spirit to the tour with System 7 and my show at Akasaka Blitz. At the same time, I’m at the climax of DVD production work for my show last year at Zepp. I need to get that done this month. Starting next month I’ve got to concentrate on the LUNA SEA tour, which is going to be the centerpiece of the latter half of the year. I also think that X JAPAN will be active starting from next year, but I need to get YOSHIKI to make a decision as soon as possible (laughs). It sounds like Juno will be playing in Japan early next year. There might be a European tour at the end of this year as well, so it’s going to be a bit difficult to coordinate things with LUNA SEA… In any case, I’m going to feel like I’m constantly in the midst of a storm.

so here we go, no XJapan this year

As always we'll have to see if X Japan shall stick to their plans. I agree with Ulquiorra that it's not worth following. It can be dissapointing and there just isn't much to follow. But why stop listening to them.. what they do now hasn't got a big influence for me on the way I think about X Japan before their reunion. It's fun there's atleast some activity and hopefully Yoshiki will make another good song once. Just don't have high expectations :P

I don't know if Sugizo is the main reason for X Japan not releasing an album or doing a tour..I think it's quite normal for X Japan postponing things and I think Yoshiki with all his side projects also has a big part in it. As for Sugizo, I've devoted a whole topic on his guitar playing and who I would like to see instead of him. Ofcourse X Japan comes in second place for Sugizo and if Luna Sea is quite active it will have an effect on the role of Sugizo in X Japan. I still wonder how big that role for Sugizo is at the moment. Even before X Japan stopped in 1997 many bandmembers had solo projects.

Albums/Singles / Re: Looking for X Japan CDs in the UK
« on: June 10, 2012, 10:27:58 PM »
Although you did reply to a spammer I want to add that the ebay store you mentioned (gskohouse cd japan) is a Chinese seller. I wont say every Chinese seller is bad but there are a lot of fake items made in China and I have many positive with Japanese sellers and less with Chinese. With gskohouse I also have a bad experience in what kind of state an item was in. I also dont like that he almost let it looks like its a Japanese store.

@ Matthias, I listened to The One again and that solo song of Sugizo. You're right, it's not my cup of tea but if it is played in the background it's ok.
I don't know why you guys like it. I think it's really different from X Japan's music. I can't listen X Japan when I need to study for instance but with Luna Sea it's better not to focus on the music. If I do I get like wtf is this transition?! I still like some songs of Luna Sea like "Another" (perhaps because its sounds like stairway to heaven :P)

I like IV the most of X Japan's new songs because it was quite special just after their reunion and the fact they used a riff from hide. Jade is pretty catchy but I'm not so fond of the solo and the bridge reminds me of a cartoon I used to watch as a child...anyone else knows Alfred Jodokus Kwak? lol

This one about 1:00

Jade at about 1:20

sorry to say but I suddenly became more positive about songs like born to be free :P

Lets hope Sugizo can put all his creativity in Luna Sea so he'll listen to Yoshiki when he's playing for X Japan haha

22
haha Matthias, you made the same mistake as I did (replying to a spammer that copied an earlier post).
Thanks, I feel less dumb now :P

but ok on the topic..I'm a big Guns fan but with Slash. I think Guns without Slash is almost like X Japan without hide. The main differences are that Slash is ofcourse better known for his guitar playing and in Japan the image is often cute instead of cool/relaxed. So, I haven't seen much of the new Guns. I knew that Dj Ashba could play a few notes but I underestimated Richard Fortus..he has his own way of playing and does it with a lot of feel. Sugizo could learn much from him. I like that Fortus plays Knockin on heavens door in a different way then Slash and Izzy did. The vid you showed about the James Bond theme is less impressive. I prefer the Godfather theme of Slash.

Like Sugizo, I think Fortus isn't great for power metal. If X Japan would play more power metal Panther would definitely be the best but for the slower stuff with more improvisation Fortus would do a good job. Better then Sugizo for sure. Only the image of Sugizo suits X Japan more but that's just my opinion. For popularity in the US Fortus might be better in that as well.

he made the right choice on picking Sugizo

Well..how do you know he made the right choice if you haven't heard anything of Sex Machineguns yet...perhaps that would change everything :P

I did say Sugizo was the best choice, but in comparison to other guitarists that were likely options (not including Panther) and for the direction the music of X Japan is heading now.

You could join jpopsuki and download the dvd and watch it on your tv ::)
I like that they play alive at kyoto sports valley. Taiji is pretty amazing there.

It's nice to see that more people like the idea of Panther with X Japan :). It seems that I'm not the only one getting annoyed sometimes by Sugizo's playing.

When I first started discussing things like this, most would say Sugizo was the best among hide and Pata. Even that hide was the most unskilled.
I'm happy to see comments like the ones from the Sugizo vs Pata video that recently got some thumbs-up's:

X JAPAN World Tour / Re: X JAPAN's world tour plans for 2011
« on: September 17, 2011, 12:11:40 PM »
I also noticed they lowered the tempo but I usually pay attention to the guitars. I thought they lowered it because of Sugizo or more likely Pata. I didn't notice Yoshiki couldn't keep up. Heath shouldn't have a problem with it I guess although Taiji had. How Taiji played Black Widow with Loudness was almost in slow motion!
I thought a good guitarist would perhaps improve all this but you guys say it has probably more to do with Yoshiki??

I would think that the guitarist is 15 years old and plays a bad solo with too much wah-wah and other effects.
