Title: Dahlia Tour 1995.12.31
Post by: Menacia on February 24, 2007, 11:49:05 AM
I'm still wondering why this one never got an official release. It must have been on TV in 1998 though, together with all other lives. Nonetheless, I've only watched a bootleg with bad picture quality - the sound was ok, better than picture - but Endless Rain part was corrupt.

They've done some really great performance on this live.

Spolier warning:

Tears acoustic - Toshi and a harp
Say Anything acoustic - YOSHIKI and Toshi..even though its very short and looks like they didnt plan to play it that night.

Celebration - always fun to watch and listen to this one.. hide-chan, hide-chan, hide-chan

Joker - they actually mess it up...its funny to watch YOSHIKI and hide kill the song with simply staring at each other...maybe thats the reason why it never got released

oh and the clock...sooooo funny too

I think Yoshiki messed up Joker on purpouse, he just started to accelerate the beat and hide got "mad" :D

Yeah it is, I think you can find the videos with keywords like "X Japan Tokyo Dome 95". I'm not sure, if you can't find it, I'll try to search it.

He looked  flabbergasted hehe, it would've been nice if he took over there and help Toshi. But I'd be too confused as well haha.

Can someone upload these to Sendspace? Megaupload doesn't seem to work in Finland.

It works if you install the toolbar. It's really no bother if you don't use IE, because it installs the toolbar automatically on IE, then just use IE for your megaupload downloads.

Thank you Menacia for the links, and thank you Radical Pan for uploading (whoever you are).

And it's extremly easy to hide (atleast on IE7), just right click the toolbar and uncheck "Megaupload Toolbar" 8)

So the Author says the video ist 1995.12.30, but on YouTube you can never know and cause I didn't want to make an own thread for the video I'm gonna post it in here *g*

Awesome performance of tears (and after reading the spoilers it could be from the 31st):

Enjoy:

When I downloaded it, it was tagged as 1995.12.31 which is why I left it as that when I added the video info.

I really hope this will get a DVD release sometime. It's indeed a great live and imho even think it'S better than Dahlia Tour Final (96).

It's really funny to see hide's reaction! ;D

The faceexpression of hide is priceless, now I want a release of this concert even more *g*

For me, this is the perfect concert of X Japan. Though, they had some problems on the previous day.

The bootleg version in which Endless Rain corrupted is the bad one. You can find a much better version easily on Emule with high source :)

I remember reading somewhere that drum solo had to be aborted...

I have found several Dahlia Tour DVDs in various places for sale and I've seen a few of the concerts on youtube.  The one, specifically mentioned in this thread is pretty faded out in quality as far as the youtube video is concerned.  I was wondering if anyone has this on DVD and if so, is it also faded out or is the picture clear and true to color or nearly so?  Also, are there parts 1 and part 2 on separate disks and sold separately or not? From the wording of the titles in auctions and Amazon, it looks like there are two separate disks and you purchase both as different purchases.  Is that so or am I not getting what they are saying in their sale or auction text?

And how many of the Dahlia Tour shows are actually recorded and on the net?

I know, a lot of questions.  LOL.  Sorry.

The first day (12/30) was quite troublesome.
They tried to repeat the drum solo with the giant globe like 1994. It started to lift, then suddenly everything stopped in silence for a while then they proceeded simply skipping the Drum Solo. Later during the concert it was said that something broke on the globe and Yoshiki almost got seriously injured. Then on the second day they got rid of the globe.

IIRC, during Orgasm a string of Heath's bass broke and hit him in the face. That's why he played the rest of the concert (and the second day) with a band on his forehead.

Anyhow, I saw a bootleg of the 31st which was poorly ripped from an old VHS recorded from WOWOW, which someone uploaded online. The concert seemed awesome. They were in a good shape, the setlist was great, all the performances were awesome. But Yoshiki preferred to release 42956741673 versions of Dahlia Tour Final (the most boring of all the DVDs they released) instead of releasing this.

Joker, are you still there? Is the Dahlia Tour video that is for sale at various venues, not that good as far as performance, then?

Thanks!

I saw an VHS rip about two years ago, and as far performance or concert experience goes, this is not really very special. I remember liking it a bit better than the Dahlia tour final, but it's still not a must-see IMO.
(btw: My favorite ones are the second X Japan returns and Kyoto sports valley, wish the latter would be longer)

I can't see which concert this one is, I don't believe.  There are 2 DVDs, not VHS and this is the description.

Used - Good
As pictured, this UPC/JAN. (See scans) Disc: Mild to moderate wear. Some dust, several light scratches. Played perfectly. Case & liner: Fine, some light scuffing to case. Insert sheet: Fine. Note - Produced in Japan, but multi-region disc intended for play in both Japanese and U.S. systems. Quite scarce.

Thoughts?
